These are for my jetbike and flyer based Dark Eldar with Eldar allies army I'm slowly building up. I wanted to have at least 3 jets for "heavy support" and I might add a 2nd Crimson Hunter, as the model was simply a delight to build and paint. They all were, but building and painting all the missiles for the Razorwings was quite tedious to say the least.

All options are fully magnetized, including the jets to the acrylic rods, which I used instead of the stock GW flyer base, which I'm not all that crazy about.

The bases were done with lots of floor tile adhesive and bits of real rocks. Airbrushed with Vallejo model air and some oil washes. I mixed up Dark Eldar and Eldar decals on all the models, as my army is kind of a combined corsair army that has deviated from both cultures to form their own force.

Here's all 3 together:

The acrylic rods I cut quite high, to give a sense of altitude!

The obligatory layout of all munitions:

And here's some detail on the Razorwings:

I painted the fins on the Razorwings with Alclad metallics to give them a nice, shiny sheen.

And did the gems with Tamiya transparents which are some seriously nice paints for anyone's paint arsenal.

Here's the Crimson Hunter, totally awesome kit IMO.

And finally some close ups of the bases:

Great job. Both of those kits are so beautiful and made even more so by your paint job. Tempting me to start on my DE before my Ogres are finished!

Fantastic looking air support. I like the overall color scheme and idea behind a more 'Corsair' type army.

Thanks for the tip with the Tamiya transparents. I was looking at them recently and wondered how they were different and what effect they'd give to a model.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Thanks, will do. Next up is 3 more eldar and dark eldar jetbikes, a 3rd vyper and 2 venoms, plus 10 kabalite warriors and archon. I also have wytches and wracks, but I'm contemplating just going with all kabalite warriors.

Tamiya transparent paints are excellent paints and there's so many effects you can do with them, I think they add a nice touch to any model. Great for creating blood, slime, oil etc.

Absolutely fantastic! Love the colors on them, as well as the rest of your force!

How tall are those bases? Are they custom made? Just wondering, as I'm looking to do a heldrake soon.

P.S. - Totally off topic, but I really like your terrain in your gallery as well.

Thanks, the rods are 12-18" tall, they're 1/4" acrylic rods I ordered off eBay. I had to glue them into the bases with lots of gorilla glue to ensure they were sturdy, and getting them to stand straight was kind of a pain, but I like them better than the stock GW flyer base.

They all look very awesome. The more I look at them together, it seems like those two vehicles were destined to be kit bashed together to make a void raven bomber.

These are gorgeous, thanks for sharing them. Some of the best Eldar fliers i've seen !

The bases are incredible too, really great job.

Sexy! How do the elevated rods work for gaming though?

Awesome. The long acrylic rods look a ton better than the standard GW ones. The bases in general are amazing.

Paint scheme is ace as well!

Stunning work. Solid paintjobs all around, great looking bases, lots of options, and even something unique in the form of extra height. It actually looks really good, but I personally would never dare extending the flyer rod, since I'm already nervous of knocking my Dakkajet over.

I'm not sure yet, haven't got enough force to play a game so far. I think it will be ok unless someone wants to be a real rules stickler.

They're definitely less stable, and I've already knocked one off my shelf, sending magnetized missiles flying all over the room!

I'll have to be very careful when gaming with them

I like the colors and theme. You don't often think of space elves as desert folk but the look is good.
