Subject: Tournament Report - The Michael Mudd Memorial V - Game 1 added
The poll will run for 3 days! Chime in before it runs out.
This saturday I shall be joining another 39 or so players at the 5th annual MMMT . This memorial tournament has been held every year since the death of one of our good friends. Michael Mudd It is a charity tournament, and proceeds support the local Humaine Society as he loved animals. His parents come down every year and they hand out the prizes!
So, this year I am taking my Coven army. It will be games 20-23 in the Journey of Perfection for the army. And I can't wait to put the list to the test against some other armies in a competitive environment.
I will have a full writeup as I am able to.
Here is the coven:
The 4 Games are home brewed missions:
Limited Supplies - 6 objectives that each have a rule assossiated to them.
Game 1:
Spoiler:
Game 1 - vs Shawn and his Whitescars
His List from memory:
Master, bike, shield eternal, burning blade
3 x 5 bikes with 2 gravs, 2 with MM attack bike, 1 with HB attack bike.
5 scouts, snipers, cammo cloaks
5 bikes with 2 meltas, attack bike MMelta
StormTalon, lascannon
StormTalon, lascannon
2 land speeder typhoons
Mortis Contemptor Dread, 2 super assault cannons, cyclone rocket launcher
The mission? "Limited Supplies"
6 objectives, vanguard deployment
Each player took turns placing an objective at a time, each objective granted a special rule, like skyfire, so you could strategize with your placement.
White scars choose to go and deploy first. Leaving only the storm talons in reserve.
Using LOS blockers and range, the coven deploys almost everything out of range and or LOS. In reserve, a venom with wyches, the razorwing, and a venom with blasterborn.
This game started with the bikes moving full tilt forward towards the coven. And that's when I made the big mistake or charging urien into the masters squad... I bounced and then he hit and run away right into my lines... I was able to kill 2 full bike squads. The scars armour saves against the volueme of firepower were awesome! The mortis dread passed almost all of the saves he had to make. And the grav guns and typhoons made short work of the taloi. It was a blood bath. Although I was able to secure two objectives and had gained first blood for a 3 / 7 loss. (Max points in any game were 15) I really threw away urien and his boys that game. Should have kept them back and had the muscle later in the game to push the bikes out of my zone. My lack of experience against the new marines showed in this game.
Games 2-4 will be added.
Game 2 : Drop Supplies - 3 objectives scatter from the centre of the table turn 1. 3 more on turn 3. Deployment was dawn of war.
Spoiler:
Games 2 - vs Jason and his Fateweaver flying circus.
His list from memory:
Fateweaver
DP of Tzeench lv 3
DP of Nurgle lv 3
CSMDP
10 deamonettes
10 Plaguebearers
10 Cultists
Helldrake
A very elite list, but a very nasty list. I have played this army before a few times and I know what I need to do, he knew what he had to do, so it was boud to be a touch match. I shall write up the report soon.

I didn't take as many pics as I would have hoped because of the time constraints. But ill post a writeupfor sure.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Game 1 - vs White scars. Added to the first post! Something else I want to add. Soft scores are a big part of this event, painting and sportsmanship playing a big part for the overall score. So I shall post the overall scores (with generalship, painting and sportsmanship all added together) at the end.
