Just remove the cockpit plating and put some Killa Kan arms on the side and they look great! The pilot is exposed like the original, however, the vehicle looks a little less sturdy than the Penitent Engine. But looking like a AV 9 vehicle is a minor inconvenience in my opinion.
Bonus point if you magnetize the arms and cockpit plating so you may switch between Sentinel and Penitent engine if you have both armies, like I do.
I'm currently at work and I am busy tonight, but I'll try to send you pictures tomorrow.

You wouldn't even need sentinels, if you can convert the kan torso to be taller - which could be as simple as remounting the arms to be raised instead of hanging down, and/or making the kan 'feet' bulkier and thus taller.
So long as you like a steampunk feel, the kan models are quite easy to de-orkify.

Please do, I'd love to see them for inspiration!
Clang; that would work, but if I include sentinel legs, then they look a little for human/imperial.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Now I'm thinking of just buying a deff dread. It has enough arms.

"It's bigger then all of us. Winston's in the air duct with a badger."
As promised, here are my conversions.
I still need to paint them and put a little green stuff to put beards on two of the pilots, but I'm currently I'm busy painting my Adepta Sororitas troops. (And as much I love to paint soldiers, I hate painting vehicles... I'll need to find ways so that will be less of a chore for me)
Spoiler:
A little guide to the conversion of the modular Sentinel/Penitent Engine
Spoiler:
The locations of the magnets. Also, don't stack the magnet one over the other, the space is limited within the cockpit, so put them side by side. There is still a bond, even though it is a little less strong.
Sentinels
Penitent Engine
And now.. combining the Dakka of a sentinel with the Choppa of a Penitent engine... The Penitent Sentinel! (I know, the current weapon loadout is a REALLY bad choice!)

not exactly what you're after, but i modelled this on the Penitent engine - i used Sanguinors body as the 'pilot' as he has the same pose as the penitent one
