Hi all,

So lately with the last few GW releases, they've (naturally) taken down the old battleforces/battalions because of new models coming to that particular army, as they would.

Usually they would renew these boxed sets, but lately I've noticed that they haven't.

i.e. the Space Marine release came with one big (AUD) $350 set! Also with the new Dark Elves there is just that massive boxed set for christmas, no army box.

What's would be happening here???

From what i've been told, the battle force/ battalion box sets are being replaced with those larger, more expensive boxes..

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!

Schwartz, that $350 Space Marine Strike Force - I bought 3 of them for $177 ($4 shy of 50% off AU RRP) each from a US discounter, Discount Games Store. *Never* buy GW products in Australia.

It resulted in new SM Tac marines for $2.30 each - actually a decent price for a high quality model kit.

Wasnt the battalions and bforces like the only things in gw were you got a discount or a unit for free? This is why they are phasing them out

You obviously haven't been to New Zealand, at least you don't pay GST on "necessities"

First time I've seen them, I made rough numbers sing the SW one and buying all the separated boxes even from GW was cheaper ^^U

The newer big boxes are still a good deal. A bit more expensive up front.

The Dark Elf Warhost costs $170(US) but contains $212.50(US) worth of models, so you're pretty much getting the chariot for free.

Find yourself a discount giver, such as my FLGS, which will give you a further discount and you've got yourself quite a good deal.

One of them filthy casuals...
