Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldnt find it in the search.

So, if I have an Iron Hands SM chapter in a Apoc game (no allies etc) and they take a Titan as a superheavy choice, does that titan then get the IH USRs.

I feel like a titan with IWND would be unbelivably awesome, but kinda mean to play.

So what does Dakka think, does the USR extend to TItans? or since it is not in the SM codex does it not apply?

I assume if its part of your detatchment, it should benefit from the chapter tactics.

Yes. Titans are still walker's as long as you are going by the latest Apoc data sheets. Now its an apocalypse game and that book basically says feel free to make up rules. Your play group may very well decide that the IWND rule cannot apply to a super heavy becouse of the complexity of thier construction.

Oh, good catch, Standard apoc games do not use detachments. If your play group is using the detachments they need to decide if the titan is technically part of your detachment. There is room for argument here as the titan is not a space marine unit, but a imperium unit.

Or we could use these amazing new things called "Rules" and "Logic".

Your Space Marines can(must) come from at least 1 Chapter with the appropriate Chapter Tactics.

No Titan is a Space marine vehicle.

No, you cannot have an "Iron Hands" Titan to gain IWND on your titan because of the above.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

If they take a Baneblade, does it get IWND? I don't think so.

I'd say no for the Titan as well.

Space Wolves: 3770
Orks: 3000
Chaos Daemons: 1750
Warriors of Chaos: 2000

However, they can take a Felblade, which is a Space Marine Baneblade.

fluff wise the Salamanders chapter could actually have one since they are the only officially exempt chapter from the codex astrates that broke up the legions.

that being said in terms of a strict rules as written ect ect, then you are correct in that a warhound for example is an imperial titan and not a space marine one.

Even fluff wise none of the SM Legions had Titans, the Titan Legions had Titans and are technically a subsect of the Adeptus Mechanicum.
