I'm a fan of using bases as a way to pull my army together, I tend to buy moulded bases from eBay and can say 99% of the time the base can have as much of an impact on the finished model as the paint job. Recently GW have been modelling more figures standing on rocks or skulls etc, these then look out of place on my bases and if removed can leave the model leaning in an odd direction. Has anyone else had this issue if so did you manage to resolve the problem.

Pretty much the above, also where I base with sand I can build it up to accomodate oddly shaped feet and regain an upright pose.
