Hello I have always wanted to play warhammer 40k but never had the time or money. However I have some more free time on my hands and would love to start playing. I would like to ask what faction is the best to start with and cheapest to bye for.

I use to play clicks,heroes, and mech warrior back in the day.

I have played all of the rts games and have read some of the lore.

As for the question, can't really help you with what's the cheapest army, but if you're looking for a versatile army that's good for beginners, Space Marines is a good start.

Hello and Welcome! I am a new player for 40k, went with Orks because of.... everything about them. But, I am sure they arent the cheapest. I may be wrong but I would think Grey Knights would be the cheapest? And I think they look pretty awesome. But also as a new player I was looking at it as 2000+ points which is where its expensive. But 500/750/1000 point list really arent to much of a stretch. Goodluck!


Also check places like Ebay or Craigslist. You dont have to buy all new models, unless of course you want to.

Imperial guard in some ways. Because they are human you can use just about any 28mm human models. I am a fan of seeing historic models used as guard. The one thing thats hard to find decent guard replacements for are the vehicles. If you are interested in guard i highly suggest having a look around at what other companies have to offer.
