Hi guys, been a long time since I have been on here to post anything as I have been caught up with school and work, but now that I finally have a schedule to allow me a social life I have decied to continue on my quest to find a great Mechanized themed army. Now this list I have come up with as an "Elite" or "Spec Ops" kind of army and this is my attempt at a list from the Grey Knight books (and this is from memory as I am at work right now so give or take a few points) so advice is needed, thanks!

-5 Warrior Acolytes (Coteaz goes here)
(2 with Plasma Guns or Meltas, 3 with Storm Bolters)
-Razorback
Twin Linked Assault Cannon, Psybolt Ammunition

As a grey knight player, I can't really fault it.

Keep in mind you have a lot of points tied up in your dread knights and no real anti tank.

Your troops will drop like flies so you'll need to use the other assets to keep the enemy locked and away from them while they sit objectives. On the other hand if your dreads get caught up with throw away units or high durability units, the rest of your army is very squish-able.

Looks brutal, Cortez is the obvious choice for the job as he is cheap and if you keep him behind your transports with a unit they can destroy any units that try and melta your transports from behind via deepstrike

One thing though, If I were you i'd take off the hurricane bolters, as they're 30pts that you could use better elsewhere, IMO. I say that as your raven is probably going to be spending most of the match focusing on AA, so infantry stuff won't be too useful

As it will be an AA vehicles I would personally give it TL LC and Typhoon Missiles.

Storm bolters are not really worth it on acolytes. The bolter is a much more economical option, and does most of what you need. The storm bolters only come into play when shooting at full range, or wanting to assault. Since you probably never want to assault, your paying more for an extra shot at range. Thing is, your special weapons are either 12" or rapid fire, so they don't mesh so well with the storm bolter. Also, your acolytes are in razorbacks for at least 1-2 turns, meaning no shooting at all.

If you drop every storm bolter to a bolter you can get a 3rd special weapon on some of your squads. A good mix of triple plasma and triple melta should do it. I think your also OK on anti tank, seeing as you have S7 assault cannons, melta and plasma throughout. Nothing long range, but GK don't have much long range anyways.

I would keep the raven as is. TLLC is nice, but a flier has no problem getting a multi melta into range and it is no question on which is more effective at 12". The assault cannon is good with the psybolt, making it dangerous to almost any target through volume and quality of fire. Storm bolters are expensive, but they work against AV11 or less, and provide a ton of dakka should you need it.

You could consider dropping some assault cannon razorbacks down to heavy bolters. Still effective with psybolt ammo, but cheaper to get some more stuff on the field.

I run my SR with the TLMM and TLLC option. Works fantastic for AA, as I can either split them to hit two targets at once or dump both into one and increase the chance of blowing it up. While I like the idea of the TML, frankly, it's too expensive an upgrade for an already expensive vehicle. If you need anti-horde, you still have mindstrikes, but it's not like GKs are hurting in that department to begin with.

I like it! How could a GK player not like that many Psycannon tanks?

If you have the points, throwing a monkeys into your acolyte squads might not be a bad idea, they can buff your weapons a bit. I would drop the psilencers on the dreadknights for the greatsword, with a personal teleporter they can get into close combat fairly easily and re-rolls there will help. They will be your go-to units for dealing with vehicles and "tough" units like MCs. Plus, it's not like you need more S4 shooting. If you really want a second gun, the heavy psycannon has more potential in my mind.

I second the TL LC and TL MM if you want to go anti-air for the storm raven. A skyfire TL MM on a flyer is much, much better than 2 krak missiles.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
