hey man,

I've just recently returned to the game, so I'm really in no position to be giving advice on your army list. But I would definitely recommend making a few changes to your post if you want to generate feedback.

Your post is somewhat hard to read. For some reason there are huge spaces between each line which makes it somewhat difficult to read fluidly. Keep in mind that the harder it is to read your post, the fewer people will actually read the whole thing. I tried to read your post but blanked out and closed the tab halfway through. You have lines with a single word like "with". Just in terms of human psychology, people read more fluidly from left to right, not so much from top to bottom (unless you're writing in a language that usually goes top to bottom - which you're not). If you want to make your post as effort-free to read (and thus generate the most replies) things like complete sentences, punctuation, and capitalization really help guide the eye quickly from thought to thought. I'm not trying to make you feel bad about your writing style, I'm just trying to help you generate the most number of full reads of your post. The more people read your post, the more replies you'll get.

Also, it might help you to format your army list into force-org categories like "HQ", "Troops", "Elites" etc. It just makes it much easier to read quickly. Having point totals for each unit is highly recommended (possibly mandatory by dakkadakka rules?), however I understand that you don't have your codex with you. Maybe you could wait until you get your codex back before you post an army list? There is a standard format for army lists somewhere, I'm sure it's laid out in a sticky. People will be more willing to read your army list if it follows a convention that people are comfortable with.

Finally it might help to be a little patient. I think at the time that I'm writing this, less than 16 hours has passed (and most of these have been night-time hours in the United States). I've posted threads that had zero replies within the first 24-hours. But once the conversation gets rolling there have been replies every few minutes!

Best of luck you. I'm also a BT player, however I haven't played BT since 3rd edition. I'll be keeping an eye on your thread as I hope to learn something about army building from the responses!

Tips to run a BT assault-oriented list:

1) don't expect CC miracles out of them, they're still regular marines who will get their asses handed to them by dedicated CC units

2) sadly, our named HQs are pretty lame, you might get Zealot on a couple unit with Grimaldus but Hellbrecht's trait is gonna be hard to pull off and his CC prowess is rather lame. While the EC is a decent "bang for your buck", there are still better options

3) keeping in mind 1) and 2) here's what I'd do: lose HellBrecht and the captain, take the CM with artificer armor Burning Blade and Shield eternal and add a chapter banner to your HGs along with more bodies; add a stock chaplain for extra umph. Put that squad in the LRC so that they don't all die a horrible death from a plane crash.

4) why 10-man crusader squads? Might as well get tacticals that can combat-squad at that point. If you want a CC oriented BT army get some bp/ccw crusaders with a couple of power-weapons and a MG or flamer. If you want firepower stick with a 5-man squad with heavy/special/combi setup.

5) stick the termies in the stormraven, they'll have a good chance of survival if it gets shot down

6) while your troops can run pretty fast thanks to crusader, they're also gonna be very vulnerable in the open, I would try to get them a ride, either rhinos for the shooty ones or ideally another LRC for the assaulty ones.

Hope this helps a bit. Let me know if you have any questions.
