Hi Guys, this is the first time I've ever posted on Dakka.

I'm looking for some advice around cases as I have 2 but really want 1 case to house my entire BA army.

To help I have provided a top line army list;

3 X Land Raiders
2 X Stormravens
1 X Baal Pred
1 X Rhino
5 X Land Speeders
2 X Dreadnaughts
1 X Drop Pod
10 X Termies
5 X SG
15 X Assualt Marines
12 X DC with Jump packs
30 X Tac Sqd
Most of the BA HQs

I currently have a large GW Case and a Battle Foam Shileld Bag.

I've been looking at the Battle Foam P.A.C.K 720 which looks like it may be just what I need but still not 100% if it could fit my army in.

Any help/advice would be most welcome.

Thanks guys,

Hey just checked out the website - they appear up to 20% cheaper than the standard home sites. Thanks a lot.

I've found tremendous luck with the tablewar solution cases. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

KR Multicase all the way for me. Custom fit cases, wide range of bags and insert trays. Foam goes in boxes, boxes go in excellently designed travel type bags. (No, I don't work for KR, I just love their stuff )

You may need the 4 box bag to transport that lot though, not sure how many Land Raiders you can get in a box.

Send that list to KR's sales address, and they'll tell you what you need.

Definitely go with KR.

Battlefoam was the go to case a few years ago, but now you have many options that are high quality.

Tablewar, hands down the best case, it will work for all of your armies and all of your models as it is modular and magnetic.

You should be able to set up the case in such a way as to fit your entire list if that is what you want.

Go to the KR Website and use the Auto Fill.

Just punch in the list of minis you have and press Auto Fill it will calculate what you need to fit everything.

You might actually want to go the next size up with battlefoam that is a lot of large models you are trying to store.

Unless they've updated it, I found the autofill to be a little less than useful. But that was back when it launched, so I have no idea if they've done any work on it since...

After reviewing the KR site, they are pretty nifty I would look to see if they could accommodate your needs before you went with battlefoam as you pay a huge amount to have battlefoam if your not in America.

KR are great, if you can't get what you want from the automated tool drop them an email as they are really helpful.

Yes, I had issues with the AutoFill feature on KR's website. Probably due to my large list, but I sent them an email and got a response within a week.
Tom was very helpful, I sent him 2 lists. My current list of models and what I planned to purchase within the next 6 months and he created a load out list of trays/foam to accommodate them all.

Unfortunately I've had issues with the 'auto fill' tool on KR.

I will drop them an email with my list instead and see what they come up with.

I really, really like KR. The foam is great.

Positives are that it's modular so you can have certain models in smaller card cases, and have several card cases - grab what you need and go.

Downside? ...It's modular so you can have certain models in smaller card cases, and have several card cases. The limited number of (large) models you can fit per case means you may need more cases than you would like to buy.

However, this does mean that you don't need to bring the entire collection with you every time you want to play a game. Which I think is a real plus, as I don't want to have to bring a suitcase with me to a 1000 point game. I'm trying to figure out a way to use some custom battlefoam trays in KR cases, actually - the Battlefoam custom tray creator is something I would love to be able to use.

Some really great advice, thanks guys.

I've emailed KR & Battle Foam just waiting for their reply.

All I need to do now is convince the Mrs to buy me what I need for Christmas....

Hi All,

I thought I would update you all on the new case I've ordered,

Battle Foam have just released the spear case which starts shipping in January 2014,

It has a great footprint with GW size foam so I can utilise my current foam and is on wheels & at only £80 was a great deal.
I have placed my order,

If you like I could post a review on it when it arrives,

Once again thanks for the advice.

Does anyone use the GW large army case? Just wondering, coz I was thinking of getting one. Mainly because it's easy to grab from the store.

Cheers

I've got the large Red GW case. It's ok for a medium sized army. I don't tend to use it as I don't like my models being exposed to so much movement (vertical/flat), there are far better cases out there for a similar price point.
