I love them both, I think the fluff for them both is great and I cant seem to find anything to set them apart at the moment.

The fact somethings broken doesn't really nudge my decision either direction; The only thing I am a little concerned about
Is that(From what I have seen) DE have like 2 lists which are competitive, and although I am not looking to play competitive
Its nice to have the option without having to completely revamp your army.
The DE Beastmaster list is a complete no also, as I don't really like the style of models, and look is a big plus in picking between
the two.
What I am asking for is some sort of comparison between the two; from a experienced player who could give me some insight into
the playstyle and the future of each(If possible)

Why not play both? Or does the fluff from both that you want to use restrict that?

That is definitely something I plan to do in the future. But yeh as you said, I sorta have a individual Idea for both DE and Eldar

Any list you build will last longer for CWE as they have already gotten their codex.

Which craft world would you want to play? Saim-Hann, Iyanden, and mech Ulthuan, mech Biel-Tan, and eldar corsairs are all amazing right now and can be played at any competitive level with the right list tweaks (all list tweaks for these are completely fluffy too). The newish plastic CWE models are very good and the finecasts look good but are a pain to make. So depending on craft world you may not have very good model access.

DE have an amazing model line. Perhaps the best looking models in 40K. If you want more "feminine" wyches you can get DE kits which are less muscular. Honestly though the muscle wyches are great looking. The only problem being that the DE have very limited options in tournament scenes. They also have a good chance of getting a new codex in a year or two with how 6ed is being updated.

The great thing is you can start small in one (HQ+Troops) and if you get bored you can switch to the other...and if you get bored...you switch back...yep, you will soon be fielding a corsair fleet like me. I really do love the DE HQ models.

You seem to have a good idea of what you are talking about in terms of the merge between the two.

Would it be ok if I was to carry this on over PMs as advice would be really appreciated.

Sure. Though I must admit I have mostly HQ units form DE. If I could take 5-8 HQ slots I would be happy.

Well, I play both DE and Eldar. If you don't go the route of competitiveness, then I suggest to pick DE. Its more rewarding to win with a DE army. Eldar is more straightforward to play these days. Serpent spam is very strong. Moreover, GW promoted Iyanden and so you see a lot of players jumping on this bandwagon. But Iyanden is heavily overrated ,without going into details here. I'd stay away from the Wraith warriors.
DE on the other hand, has a nice model range (troops) and is very versatile. As for Eldar, speed is their armor.

Ditto, Eldar for Shooting and DE for assault.

Agreed. And then you can make fluff monkeys cry, by having Drazher lead a squad of Incubi with Karandras tagging along.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I'd lean towards eldar simply because they have the most recent codex update. You know that any list you create will be valid for the next few years (unless your meta is constantly changing).

If you were to choose DE you'd have a fairly decent codex to work with, although with the new GW release schedule they may be receiving an update in the next 2 years.

Pretty much this. Unfortunately books are flying off the presses so it seems as though the DE book will come out within the next two years.

Both would go great together but if you had to choose, it depends on what you want.

The Eldar are more current so I think it would be easier to play, however like others have said scoring wins with Dark Eldar is rewarding.
