I play Orks.. My Sargent equivelent is this two wound model that always strikes last but can be equipped with an unwieldy powerfist equivelent weapon. As far as Sargent league goes I've noticed I seem to do well against Sargent's in Marine armies. My buddy plays BT so I get used to seeing that Challenge a lot and I'll gladly even issue the challenge sometimes knowing that I maybe well be preventing one Boyz casualty in a Trukk Boy unit that might run if I don't role the dice 'ard enough.

With marines being a large part of opponents, what are some Sargent challenges in other dex's that I should be wary of? Will they all have an AP3 weapon like a power sword usually? I wonder because right now I've really noticed buying a 4+ armor save on my Nob seems to just be for getting out of a blown up truck kinda safely. This line of thinking is for when I run a green tide (do I still need the 4+ if every serge should have an AP3 weapon?), which I"m going to do in a couple smaller upcoming games when I go with 'painted only' requirments.

What kinda Sargent equivelent duels do you really look to make when you are looking at your enemy?

I am the kinda ork that takes his own washing machine apart, puts new bearings in it, then puts it back together, and it still works.

My Grey Knight Justicars all carry Master Crafted Nemesis Halberds. Nothing like I6 in a challenge to wipe the smile off of an opponents face. And it's a force weapon, so if you forgo Hammerhand and the S bonus, you get the chance to instakill that Nob.

My Dark Eldar Hekatrixes/Arena Champions (I only run 'sergeants' in my Wych/Reaver squads. And my Trueborn squad, but that's an army background thing) all carry Agonisers (although the Reaver Champion has recently been experimenting with a Power Lance)

My Tyranids. Well, they're Tyranids, what's a Sergeant?

My Eldar are a mixed bag. I don't run Guardian Squads, so no Warlocks, and the equipment on an Exarch is so variable, that there's no hard and fast guide. A Scorpion Exarch with Claw will own most things though.

Most marine players I play don't tend to take power weapons on their normal squad leaders outside of Assault Squads, so that 4+ might come in handy more often than tou think...

I tool up every champion with at least some kind of melee weapon so that he can do well in a challenge, with the possible exception of my Havocs. Nothing like facing your opponent's Chapter Master in a challenge, surviving his attacks through sheer luck and then only having a chainsword when it is time to strike back...
