Hey All,

I know that fun lists don't usually require a lot of harsh criticism because they are basically meant for.. well.. fun... but I would like some input from people who have played Eldar armies before. I am new to the Eldar side of things, and somewhat new to the 6th edition Tau, although I am a big fan of Tau before... (Slightly upset that my Forgeworld Broadsides aren't the right size anymore). So this is the army I put together and I am in the midst of writing a bit of a story to go along with it.

Last Defense of Kastien IV

Warhost of Princess Maelevia (Primary Eldar Contingent)

HQ: 305 Pts
Elithare Alandre (Farseer)
The Spirit Stone of Anath'lan
Runes of Warding

Princess Maelevia - Shadowed Singer of Iybraesil (Autrarch)
Banshee Mask
Phoenix Gem
Mantle of the Laughing God
Shard of Anaris

Elite: 245 Pts
Howling Banshees of the Ebon Seirenes Shrine (5 Howling Banshees w/ Exarch)
Wave Serpent - TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holo-Fields

Troops: 570 Pts
Dire Avengers of the Crimson Helm Shrine (9 Dire Avengers w/ Exarch)
Wave Serpent - TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holo-Fields

Dire Avengers of the Golden Chalice Shrine (9 Dire Avengers w/ Exarch)
Wave Serpent - TL Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holo-Fields

Heavy Support: 160 Pts
Dark Reapers of Twilight Stalkers Shrine (4 Dark Reapers w/ Exarch)

Remnants of O'Fey'len's Hunter Cadre (Allied Tau Contingent)

HQ: 60 Pts
Shas'nel Ksi'M'Yen Or'es Len'ra (Cadre Fireblade)

Elite: 210 Pts
Shas'Vre Mont'yr (XV104 Riptide)
Twin-Linked Fusion Blaster
Ion Accelerator
Early Warning Override
Velocity Tracker

Troops: 130 Pts
Shas'ui Kais's Fire Warriors (12x Fire Warriors)
Bonding Knife Ritual

Heavy Support: 170 Pts
Shas'ui Run'al & Shas'ui M'yen (2x Broadsides)
Twin-Linked High Yield Missile Pods (x2)
Velocity Tracker (x2)

So the idea is to have the Tau at the edge of destruction in a fight with a Tyranid hive fleet when the Eldar come to the rescue (Obviously with larger intentions then to save some Tau.. Tears of Isha perhaps?). My display board would have the Tau with lots of battle damage and dead Tyranids everywhere. Then have the Eldar swooping in.

As to the competitive-ness of the army, I'm not sure it's CRAZY good, but I think it's fair for a fun list. Some things I consider... Dropping the Runes of Warding (One use only.. bah!). I'm considering dropping a few of the Dire Avengers to get more options on the Dark Reapers. As I'm not an Eldar player, I have a hard time knowing what I should go with. The Banshees are there because I love the models, and although I know they are not very affective, it follows along with the theme of a Iybraesil army. Anyway, comments and suggestions / tweaks are well appreciated. Is this a list that I would be able to bring to a tournament and still be able to hold my own? Thanks.

I agree a bike for the autarch will make him more maneuverable and more survivable. I like Banshees too, but man did they get screwed over in this edition. I only they got grenades of some kind. But then Eldar are also lacking an assault vehicle makes all the eldar assault squads pretty useless. The Harlequins used to be my favorite squads to play for Eldar and since the new edition, I have only occasionally played them and find them lackluster.

Armies
Eldar, Dark Eldar, Harlequins, Eldar Corsairs, Orks, Tyranids, Genestealer Cult, Chaos, Choas Space Marines, Tau, Sisters of Battle, Inquisition, Necrons, Space Marines, Space Wolves, Grey Knights, Imperial Knights, Dark Angels, Imperial Guard, Ad Mech, Knights, Skaven, Sylvaneth

Jetbike for the Autrarch eh? If I did that is the Shard still a stick or would you swap to the Spear? I like the idea that the Autrarch is a lose cannon in this list, and will probably be able to soak up a 'decent' amount of firepower, although I'm not sure how much it will take, a solid S6 shot can kill her.

Banshees... man you are preaching to the choir. I love those models, and they are thematic to say the least, it's why I took an almost min squad of them. I can see a few circumstances where they can be good, but yes, grenades not being on these ladies was a HUGE mistake.
