Hello.

A rather open school project came by, and I had a chance to use whatever knowledge I have accumulated over the years in the secretive sciences that is miniatures.

In a nutshell, the project was; "Pick a basic theme from this list, make whatever you want of it"

So I chose "Birth and death" and made my 2nd completely self sculpt miniature ever. I hope you fellas are not too sore about seeing womanly bits.

That is pretty creepy... but very well done

Its a nice enough sculpt.

You applied a sledgehammer to the nut of the theme though.

Joking aside, the mini is sculpted and painted well, but really off-putting and disturbing at the same time. I'd also be hard pressed to guess the theme from the sculpt. The tandem themes of death and birth brings to my mind imagery of a phoenix from the ashes, a man reborn emerging from flames, or something else likewise iconic and implicit of hope for the future (i.e. not a vagina-baring scorpion-spider woman).

We see what we see thinking outside the box is what we need to push on this first year, but I may have pushed too far! the theme aside, Im rather happy with the concept as I have not seen anything similar done anywhere. Im sure it has been done tough, but my job is to figure out new concepts

For me tough, scorpions spell death, or atleast fear of it, and a pregnant woman with her legs up is the epitome of birth. Classmates and teacher got it, alltough none had not seen a miniature before.

Wait - what? I had to google that. The answer is no. Im rather sure you dont get pregnant from that stuff anyway.
