I am getting an 850 point army together, and am debating whether I should bring a detachment of sisters. Here is my list:
HQ - 170 total
CCS - Creed and Mast. of Ord. - 170 pts
Troops - 135 total
PCS - 30 pts
- Attached Infantry with a vox caster - 55pts
- Attached Infantry - 50pts
Heavy Support - 310 total
Leman Russ Squadron:
- Leman Russ Battle Tank - 150
- Leman Russ Eradicator 160pts (anti infantry)
Sisters Ally: - 215 pts
Canoness with storm bolter and Rosarius - 65pts
- Storm Bolter 5pts
- Rosarious 15pts
Sororitas Command Squad - 65 Pts
- With Hospitaller - 10pts
- Sacred Banner - 40pts
- 3x storm bolters - 15pts
Total for the army is 830. I'm debating on whether to add some heavy weapons teams also. My concern is that I don't really have any units that would be good for close combat. The sisters with the canoness would be better than anything I currently have for CC, but not great. I'm considering bringing Uriah or Celestine, but I can only have one allied HQ, and I don't have the Arcos to go with Uriah.
I'm also thinking about dropping the sacred banner (+1 atk 12" radius). I don't have any CC anyway, no sense in wasting 40 points on it. I'm also wondering if I should even bring an ally at all, Sisters can't take most orders from IG, and IG don't benefit from acts of faith (but they can benefit from a sisters' priest's war hymns in sub fight stage (Uriah)). I could just bring Celestine and have her scout and outflank as per Creed's special rule, then troll the other teams big stuff, but with T3, she is going to go down in a hurry during shooting (even with her single 3-wound rez).
I'm trying to stay Hammer and Anvil, but with the point restriction, I'm thinking I should just drop the allies, and go shooty guard, maybe add some vets or something? I don't know who I will be going up against, so I need to have a pretty diversified army. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
