Hi
I have drafted two 1500pt lists for my Iron Warrior CSM and would like a bit of help picking one of them.
My main opponents will be Eldar, Tau, Imperial Guard, Tyranids, Grey Knights and Orks.
It is not meant to be super competitive but I would like it to hold its own. I am trying to be fluffy for the Iron Warriors hence no marks except Nurgle on the Obliterators.
List 1
Sorceror - 140
Level 3, Aura of dark glory, spell familiar
Warpsmith - 125
Aura of dark glory
10 Marines - 235
Bolters, 2 plasma guns, plasma pistol, powersword, rhino
10 Marines - 220
Bolters, 2 melta guns, powerfist, rhino
10 Marines - 165
Lascannon, plasma gun
Vindicator - 145
Daemonic possession, combi bolter, dozer blade
6 Havocs - 128
4 Autocannons
3 Obliterators - 228 (Warpsmith & Sorceror here)
Mark of Nurgle
Aegis defence line - 100
Quad gun
Total 1496pts
List 2
Sorceror - 160
Level 3, spell familiar, terminator armour, gift of mutation
Warpsmith - 135
Aura of dark glory, gift of mutation,
10 Marines - 235
Bolters, 2 plasma guns, plasma pistol, powersword, rhino
10 Marines - 220
Bolters, 2 melta guns, powerfist, rhino
10 Cultists - 50 (hold in reserve for objective grabbing)
Vindicator - 145
Daemonic possession, combi bolter, dozer blade
6 Havocs - 128
4 Autocannons
3 Obliterators - 228 (Warpsmith here)
Mark of Nurgle
5 Terminators - 199 (Sorceror here)
Heavy flamer, chainfist, powerfist, 2 x combi melta, lightning claw (champion)
Total 1500pts
I like both lists but in the 2nd I am a bit concerned by the lack of anti flyer firepower (only having the Obliterators and Havocs with weapons suitable for this) but I should only have to worry about a dakkajet, 2 crimson hunters and a vendetta in my group so I am not sure if I need to spend 100pts on the aegis line to counter it.
Would I be better off with the 5 terminators and 10 cultists (list 2) or 10 more marines with lascannon and plasma gun manning the quad gun (list 1)?
