Hey everyone back to playing DA after 10 year hiatus still working things out. Looking at the following list after some heavy research:
Librarian (Terminator armor, PFG)
Techmarine (Servitor x2)
10x Tactical Squad
10x Tactical Squad
5x DW Command Squad (Standard of Devastation, Champion, CML)
5X DW Knights
Land Raider (MM, DW Vehicle)
Land Raider Crusader (MM, DW Vehicle)
5x Devastator Squad (4x ML Flak)
= 1745
-------------------
Just to explain my logic a bit. I want to utilize the power of SoD so all along I've been trying to work in a regular command squad with banner. But it was annoying me that I'm paying such a high tax for a fairly weak squad. Then I started thinking that maybe a shooty DW command squad would be more efficient - I still get banner but also a nice punch with the termies (Libby has to take Terminator armor for that).
The other half of the plan is obviously two LR supported by Techmarine and Power Field Generator. DW Vehicle upgrades are pricey but make LR excellent at soaking dmg. Basically the only things that have even a low chance of exploding my tanks outright are point blank Meltas and CCW and that's where tanks' escort comes in. With two servitors I will repair on 3+ which isn't ideal but I really can't afford more servitors/servo-harness.
So the plan is put DW command with SoD in one tank (or behind it for added shooting) and DW Knights in the other and start slowly rolling up the middle. Keep dead space around my tanks with bolter fire and assault or counter-assault tougher units as needed.
Devastator squad is the "soft" option for AA and general versatile support but I could certainly exchange them for something else. I could also lose one ML from it freeing up 25 points which will give me 30 points total leftover to add some heavy weapons/options to infantry (maybe Apothecary to DW command. Also can I take both CML and Assault Cannon with DW command squad?). Let me know what you think and thanks in advance.
Edit: Forgot to add another option of taking two regular LR instead of one LRC for more heavy weapons.
