For a competitive list, Aunshi is not a good choice. He costs more than double a stock ethereal for not much benefit. CC is no place for most tau to be, particularly an ethereal. A regular stock ethereal is probably best for your list, and cheaper too.

The devilfish FW team is best off with pulse rifles, particularly if you have an ethereal here for storm of fire. Max out the squad leaving room for the ethereal. If something gets close, drop em out and use storm of fire. 33 pulse rifle shots is outright nasty. You can also drop the 'ui if the ethereal is here. On my devilfish I personally like smart missile systems, but if you want to just take it fish+pod that is fine too.

Longstrike is awesome, and since he brings a blacksun filter you can toss it, maybe freeing up points for something else. I also like advanced repair systems on my longhead, maybe some seeker missiles too.

I have to agree, you are better off with a stock Ethereal and Pulse Rifles for your Bomb. There is absolutely no viable reason to run Pulse Carbines over Pulse Rifles on Firewarriors.

Like said before use normal ethereal and I would drop the devil fish all together and fill out the few squads Imo. Play the long rang game.
