When in range of shadow in the warp do you have to pass the psychic test on the 3d6 or is the extra die only there for a perils chance.

Read the SitW rule, it's pretty clear how it works.

Yes...when within 12" of a synapse creature...which is about 15% of the time unless you're GKs.

The only game my Tzeentch Daemons have ever had a draw was against Tyranid, and that list has one PML4, five PML3s, and several PML1s
So it's not an auto-win for the nids; but yes, it was my closest game ever with that list.

Not really, you have about a 50% chance of success with a LD 10 psyker. And you do not perils as often as you might think.

Perilling on a double 1 or double 6 is still pretty unlikely to happen.
I know as I play a friend who uses a Tzeentch Heavy Daemon List...
LD7 (+3) on 3d6.
Fether ALWAYS seems to get a 1, 2 and 6.... Never Fails. Never Perils.

That's nothing. Numerous times against Nids I've had to deal with a Psychic Null Zone. Ld5 on 3D6...1,2,2 almost every dang time...

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Psychic Null Zone?
What is this mystical thing of which you speak?

It is in the big rulebook. There is a section called Warzone Traits. 2d6 to get a trait, Psychic Null Zone makes so all Psychic powers are cast at half Leadership, so Farseers (normally Ld 10) would cast powers on Ld 5. I'm just really glad that the guy doesn't use Deahtleaper. Psychic Tests on Ld2 is just mean.

I just looked through the glossary and there isn't anything called "Warzone Traits", could you give me a page number?
Also, you guys complaining about Shadow in the Warp, be glad we don't have to deal with board-wide Runes of Warding rolling 3d6 and causing perils on any 12+

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Amen to that, its so true, I have only had 3 games against tyranids with my new eldar and two of the games I was at 50% mark on failing but with no perils. 1 of the games both my Farseer and Spiritseer dominated on their psychic tests. I passed 90% of my powers rolling the 3d6 only one was a perils and my spirit seer took it like a champ. Seriously the tyranid player claimed he never seen anyone pass 4 psychic tests in a row on 3d6. It will probably never happen to me again that's why it's a memory lol

Indeed, that s**t was broken from day 1. I can't believe people had the nerve to complain about Rune Priest bubbles. Guess Eldar weren't very common before their current FotM-phase.

Youre joking, when that book came out the flying circus was king. You could, literally., not kill a single model playing against that army.
