A little unconventional for the list section. I have acquired a set of forge world death guard torsos, and a typhus. I'd love to build a nurgle list, but I don't know how or where to start, so I'm looking for list suggestions and perhaps list examples? Only 2 stipulations - I have to have typhus, and somewhere to use my death guard bits. Wether it's a CSM squad, plague marines, or bikers.

ALL suggestions welcome. I normally play pure Khorne so I have no idea. I am tempted with daemon allies with a great unclean one, plague bearers and a grinder!

It all depends on how you wanna play ??

Do you want a plague marine army or a extremely fun zombie army ??

Honestly, I think of rather play a plague marine army. I like the idea of zombies - but I'm just not a fan of cultists - the unit or the models.

Is it feasable to field a nurgle army without zombies?? I want it to be a mostly shooting army!

Yea it's completely doable

For example you could do for 1500pts

Typhus

Deamon prince
Mark of nurgle, wings, power armour, black mace

Troops
10 plague marines 2 melta guns, power axe
^^ times two^^

Defiler

4 obliterators

Should be roughly 1500 pts and a very rough list ( don't have chaos codex on me)

We play at a 2K points level... But that looks like a semi decent baseline...

I don't know how to bump it up I only ever play 1500 lol

But the deamon prince in my opinion should always be taken. With those upgrades it's an extremely effective unit

And a defiler because everyone goes "there's a giant spider thing coming at me maybe I should kill it" and will concentrate quite alot to kill it

I'd either pair the defilers or not take any - If I take my defiler it's always targeted by drop podding sternguard with melta against marines.
Its a 220pts first blood for me. A second defiler would then munch the sternguard and go on to do more shooting

I'd go for demon allies, cos they're cool.

Con - poor init and av12 mean that even a tac squad has a chance of killing them before they get to strike

Yeah, battle cannons 72" range template + ap 3 is nice.
Plus if you take reaper cannons on the defilers too, you get some surprisingly good aa - 6 tl reaper cannon shots

Well, I'm going for 2 stock defiler a I think. So 2 battle cannons, 2 reapers and 2 x 2 power fists.

Plague marines and daemon allies are a rock solid build.

Last year / earlier this year I ran this build.


Then I started allying with daemons. I would bring a GUO, 2 squads of plague bearers, and 3 squads of plague marines. That worked out really well.

I'm not as sure how it would do against Tau/Dar but it was good this past spring.
