Do you think this one is okay?

Respirators are usually £20-30 so my guess is that could well be a copy from one of our Chinese friends and if health is really a concern then you don't really want to scrape the bottom of the barrel when for another few quid you have the definite real deal.

If you want the highest level of protection without donning a hood look at P3 type respirators. Screwfixdo quite a few.

Personally I only use acrylic paint and thinners so don't tend to wear a mask, but I doo use a booth with extractor and spray by an open window (with the extractor pipe out of it).

Link does not work for me.

I use this with the proper filters: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/3M-PPE-Safety-Solutions/Personal-Protective-Equipment/Products/Product-Catalog/~/3M-Half-Facepiece-Reusable-Respirator-6200-07025-AAD-Respiratory-Protection-Medium-24-cs?N=4294930097+5011378&&Nr=AND%28hrcy_id%3AGS81S1LP47gs_GDGQ6Q3PBB_N2RL3FHWVK_GPD0K8BC31gv%29&rt=d

I don't think it looks right. It should be listed as protecting against vapour, not just dust.

This is the one I use: http://www.screwfix.com/p/3m-4255-maintenance-free-organic-vapour-particulate-respirator-p3/67859

Good for resin and spraying. Doesn't need replacing till its broken, some of the other types need replacing about once a month as the filter breaks down overtime.

That certainly does need replacing, when the filter is worn out by organic solvents (I.e what you use to clean the airbrush with? most people will use some sort of solvent for that job)
In the spray industry they generally dont replace the filters untill you can taste the thinners through it.
For spray painting, one needs a mask able to filter out organic solvents, dust masks let all of that through. (mostly because theyre designed for dust and not solvents)

from the description of your 'maintenance free mask' ; ' No maintenance records required if disposed of within one month. '..... The gas filters always degrade in these masks.

The only truly maintenance free ones are full face, air fed masks.
