Screaming Shining Spear

I have been wanting to put a list together involving hornets, so here it goes. Keep in mind I'm not planning to take this to tournaments, but I still would like this list to be competitive enough to have a good game. C&C encouraged and appreciated!

HQ
Farseer 175 points
Jetbike
Singing spear
Mantle
Spirit stone of Anath'lan

Autarch 80 points
Fusion gun

ELITES
5 Wraithguard 295 points
Wave Serpent
Scatter lasers
Holofield

TROOPS
5 dire avengers 200 points
Wave serpent
Scatter lasers
Holofield

5 dire avengers 200 points
Wave serpent
Scatter lasers
Holofield

3 jetbikes 51 points

3 jetbikes 51 points

FAST ATTACK
3 Hornets 285 points
6 pulse lasers
3 holofields

HEAVY SUPPORT
3 war walkers 210 points
6 scatter lasers

Wraithknight 240 points

This totals up to 1787 points. With the 63 remaining points, I'm thinking about a few things. D Scyths for the Wraithguard? Maybe a shard of Anaris, power weapon, and a banshe mask for the Autarch? Chin cannons and Ghostwalk matrix for all the serpents? Fill out the dire avenger squads? 3 more jetbikes? Maybe some combination of these?

Wraithknight/guard are there for AV 14, other hard targets such as riptides, and as general fire magnets. War walkers for the mad S6 dakka. Pulse laser hornets for 12 shots of TEQ wrecking per turn or to boost across the table and hit rear AV on fliers if need be. (They have that awesome special rule that allows them snap shots after moving long distance, which would be perfect because they only get snap shots against fliers anyway!) Sepents for mobility, digging targets out of cover, and some anti flier dakka if need be. Jetbikes will be in reserve to take and/or contest objectives late game. The Autarch is there to help keep said jetbikes off the board a little longer. He will ride with the Wraithguard in order to take advantage of T6. Mantle Farseer is for support and harassment. I cant decide who the warlord should be. 2+ rerollable seer, or the T6 Autarch in the serpent?

Again, C&C is much apreciated.

thats 80 points to keep your jet bikes in reserve. While i see the point, thats expensive. Just let them come in, and keep em back.
I like the hornets in the list.
so ya the only thing i would change is the autarch, and give your serpents shuiken cannons

If nothing else, take a scorpion chainsword on the autarch. It gives you a second CCW for +1 attack, and rounds out the points nicely. If you decide to spring for a nicer weapon, you can swap it, but you still have the pistol for +1 attack.

I second shuricannons on your serpents, matricies are cool too.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

I agree about the autarch; it shouldn't be too difficult to keep your bikes out of harm's way.

With the spare points, consider another war walker and make it two squads of two (if the new codex allows that, i don't have mine yet lol). That way you can take out two transports a turn with them alone potentially?

I would keep the Autarch and equip him with banshee mask and soul shrive so he can murder face and maybe even swooping hawk wings for hammer of wrath or late game contesting, banshee mask for -5 I so wraith guard have a chance to kill something.

I would say its like 35 points for upgrades on autarch so that gives you enough points for chin cannons on serpents.

I agree I always put shuri cannons underslung it is so much better than the shuriken catapults.
When I do take an autarch I usually give him the mantle and the shard with pistol, banshee mask, bike +/- fusion gun - If I play him I usually run Iyanded for the Warlord traits as they are so freakin good.
I think on paper wraithguard look good, but in battle with only 3up saves - they die pretty quick once out of the tank and that is an expensive unit to let go for one turn of shooting. I personally think DA and guardians serve the troops in transports best, though I always run a bike squad for lat objective grabbing and contesting +/- to put my farseer in.

I love hornets + pulse lasers and holofields - they get a bit pricey but man can they put out the hurt. Our local FLGS is very anti-IA so I don't get a chance to play it too often.

The list looks quite solid. I vastly prefer D-Scythes too wraith cannons though. Between the hornets and the WK I think you are good on heavy AT.

May the WAAC and pretzels be with you.
