so i picked up a bottle of maximum bond crazy glue and i was wondering if anyone could tell me how well it works on assorted ffgs?
ill be using it on GW, mantic restic and plastics as well as whatever WWX models will be.
has anyone had any problems?
i was also wondering if anyone has a recipe for makeshift accelerator?
i couldnt find a bottle and was wondering if theres a home grown replacement for it?

Never used the "Maximum Bond" variant, but I've put together more than a few models with regular old Krazy Glue. Mostly plastics, but a few metals, as well. Different formulations have thicker or thinner body, faster or slower curing, come in different bottles... but the general consensus is that, by and large, CA is CA - it's either the right type of glue for the job or it isn't. I wouldn't worry overmuch about what brand you're using (unless it consistently fails on you, in which case it's time to shop around again).
Can't help with the accelerator, unfortunately. Never felt a need for the stuff.

If you're looking for accelerant, I suggest checking out BSI's Insta-Set

Krazy Glue (and any other CA variant glues) have always done the job for me.
For a faster bond I add a small drop of white PVA glue to the part first, then the superglue on top. Seems to have a better and faster holding effect that way.

I'm fairly sure moisture is the catalyst for CA glue (please tell me if I'm wrong hehe I've never checked up on that tidbit)
If you lick you finger and rub some of the moisture onto the joining points it should set faster, but will cure to a weaker bond methinks.
Would love for someone to confirm that, as I can't recall where I learned it :/ lol

Brand name shouldn't be a sticking point on glues. Choose based on the consistency you're looking for, the difference between two brand names is negligible. Personally I use some generic stuff from an arts store and the only thing I care about is getting the thickest, gel-est stuff they have.

I've tried using saliva. It's not a thorough, instant cure - liquid CA glue turns into a white, gelatinous mess that, once it finishes curing, is so brittle as to be completely useless. I've heard that "kickers"/accelerants result in somewhat weaker bonds, but if they worked like saliva, NO ONE would use them. Couldn't tell you what's in them, but it certainly isn't bottled spit.
