I'm doing a conversion on the Harbinger of Menoth that's relatively standard -- cutting off the flag and adding wings to look something like this-- but I've run into a bit of trouble with the wing bits that I'm using (Picture). Basically, they're really thin, and the contact points to Harbinger are, as a result, pretty small. I've had them come off after standard supergluing, and they are too thin for my normal pins (my pin vise won't even drill in, but will slide off one side or the other).

I really want to get them on steady (Harby's already a fragile enough model), but I don't really know what to do at this juncture. My first thoughts are either:
1 - Buy really thin pins and try to pin them that way.
2 - Abandon the wings I've got and go with a more proven set -- probably the Reaper Miniatures Deva Wings, which are the same wings used in that prior winged conversion pic. That's a single bit, and it looks like it's much more amenable to either pinning or simple gluing (larger glue point).

What are your recommendations? Is there another way to get the current wings I have onto Harby so that they'll stay put against accidental tugs etc.? Or should I just go with the wings that have worked for other people before?

Thanks!

File flat the spot you want to pin with a needle file. Shouldn't need more than a spot of liquid putty to fix up once fitted. Use paper clips for pins. Given the size of the wing you will need to drill in around 10mm into the wing.

Paper clips are my standard pins, the wing is not that much thicker than a paper clip. Will still try the flattening with needle file though. Thanks! Let's see if it turns out okay.

try a smaller drill bit & dress makers pins.
You'll need decent clippers or ones you don't mind putting a dent or two in though

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
