The start to my deathwatch kill team.

Is that heat emanating from the ground, or from the vehicle itself as it cuts through the air (...or he's just driving through a dust cloud)? That's a nice idea, its interesting to see some of the 30k models being used in the latter setting (I suppose the Deathwatch have expansive armouries). You've given the whole piece quite a simplistic paint job, which compliments the Deathwatch in that it makes the whole thing seem rather no nonsense (no excessive litany of the like). Are you planning on making the rest of the team mounted in equally as manoeuvrable vehicles/jump packs, etc, or is this guy just you're front runner?

Great paint job, though. Personally, I think that if you did something with the basing to eliminate the clear plastic flight stick, it would take the model from good to phenomenal. Still, that's my own personal axe to grind and not one that gets a lot of support, so don't sweat it too hard. Digging the whole thing, honestly. Great work!

Thanks guys. The idea is that he's on a alien planet and, I thought what's more alien than a red desert (Mars) so its supposed to be dust that's gathered from jetting around. I have another one painted and one more to go. This guy is from the ravenwing and the others will be white scars. This is more of a personal project rather than something I would be gaming with so its more fluffy. Yeah I used the 30k models as the inquisition have a vast armoury and chances are they would have a few of these.
For the troops I will be using the 30k recon team. I think that they are the perfect models for deathwatch, they have bigger backpacks and look like they are gonna spend some time without being resupplyed.
The flight stick I normally just paint black, its an easy way out I know but I find for me its the best of a bad situation. I don't really like the bases that are modeled to not look like there is a flight stand

Love this! I got a single one to represent a Techmarine in my DW force, but love the unified look of the three of them together.

Just waiting for the base to dry then it will be painted same as the jet bikes
