Hi dakkanites.

Starting up a new blog with a few pals and its fallen to me to design it, so far I have been more focusing on the menus rather then apperance and content, both of which will follow shortly.

The usual blogs have a wall of text showing the latest posts, as there is going to be at least 6 of us on here I dont think that will work as each person posting will push the other one down so I have tried to do it differently. Basically the tabs at the top have Read me first (basically telling you the above and how to navigate the blog), Latest posts (where all the posts are added to so like a normal blog page). Tournaments which will link to the latest tournies we have been to and are planning to go to (the ones we have been to will have links to bat reps). Then a About us page with profiles on each author. Finally 6 pages which are our names, each page will show links to all our posts by date order.

Basically my idea is, there are three ways to navigate the blog, you can look for a specific persons post (ie you may have played them at a tourny and want to see what he wrote in the bat rep!), You can look for tournaments reports from all the authors (so if you are thinking of going to one or missed one you can get a idea on the tourny from multiple views) and for regular readers there is the latest posts page

Thats the link there. Am I over thinking this? the only real page up yet is MarkyMark (as thats me). As i said above content will follow and apperance, logos and pictures will hopefully be added this week. Any constructive feedback is much appericated!

I think a back round color would be good. Maybe a color that reflects the club. Also I think instead of having each guys name written out maybe have a tab called "the team" or something and list the names there. I like the search bare feature and the read new posts.

Whislt i like simple and its easier to read it doesnt jump out crazily. I have had huge success with a blog i do with a mate. It gets a lot of views but its target audience is new zealand etc. So think of a target audience and branch from there. But simple is better.

I also do a blog with a few other people. We found the best way is to have a schedual - that way you spread out the posts evenly. That way you'll get a steady stream of posts each week. You can have the index for each players posts too
