Am part way through building a squad of Chaos Marines with a mark of Nurgle, thought I'd share a piccy and ask for opinions (I make no claims for my sculpting ability... I'm way back at the beginning of the learning curve for that)

They're made from some really poor condition chaos marines sourced on ebay, some milliput, and a few left over pieces from the Khorne marked squad I built from a fresh kit....(the other two are indeed to come later )

So far just the champion, armed with a power sword and plasma pistol, and the icon bearer with a bolt pistol, which might get changed for one-handing a boltgun as the rest of the unit will have boltguns.

Thanks! There's still 8 to get built before I'l be laying down paints. But I'l be using the Vallejo Model Air paints I got recently to spray a base coat ... For the Khorne squad armed with swords and pistols I sprayed them a 50-50 mix of VMA Scarlet Red and Mahogany I think its pretty close to the Citadel Khorne red. These Nurgle guys... will be some sort of dirty pale green I guess. Yet to have much of a think about how to achieve it. lol!

Hopefully sometime soon I'l get around to building a Slanesh and T'zeench(?sp) squads and perhaps rhinos too

WIP painting of the Icon bearer
My nephew has decided to do Black Legion, so I've tried to have a go at a Nurgle marked Black Legion marine; using only simple techniques that I can teach to my 9 year old nephew.

Damn he's cool!
Really love the paint job. As Techsoldaten said, it's good to see somehting that isn't DG.
Are you using some of the new technical range there too?

Thanks guys, yes theres a bunch of the new technical paints here.

When I first made these, the technical paints didnt exist... so I textured the models up (actually to cover up some damage made to them - they were a salvage job) with a combination og greenstuff - poked and prodded with bits and bobs to make it textured, and some paint medium mixed with the dusty fragment of my crushed slate box.

Since then I got told we're doin Black Legion hehe, so I cobbled this together and gave those technicals a tester at the same time - although now so he can copy my work il have to give him my technicals and get me some more :/ lol!

I first went over the greenstuff areas with Typhus Corrosion, putting it on thick and wet and waiting for it to dry fully.
Then I dabbed some Biel Tan Green Shade, and some of the Nihilak Oxide around on those bits before drybrushing it with the Ryza Rust, And finally globbing some Nurgles Rot around here and there

....basically I figured if theres ever a chance to use a bunch of those technicals, its Nurgle stuff

Love the colour scheme - black really suits them.
Are they for a Black Legion force?

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Yeah, the force itself is mostly just sprayed black right now.
Theres going to be 40 cultists, 10 nurgle marked CSM, 10 khorne marked CSM, 10 undivided CSM, 5 raptors, 5 havocs, 1 hellbrute, 2 predators(fully magnetised) and 1 landraider with the DV lord and a terminator lord kit to lead them.
-I've got it all except the Raptors heavy weapons, have been stripping, rebuilding, magnetising and undercoating them before I will hand them all back over to my nephew for painting/playing. After that I'm making a table for us to play on... and finally I might get to carry on with my own armies hehe)

Thanks mostly was just having a play around with easy to do things that my 9 year old nephew could immitate without getting annoyed hehe.

There is another 9 of these to make a marked CSM squad but I wont be painting them, theyre my nephews models really, this one is a example for him to copy, I took a lot of piccys on my phone as I did it for him. And I suppose will be giving him any paints he needs for it hehe. (as it happens I bought most of the force for him lol... wheres my CSM again? )

Update on these
There almost done! I seem to be short a right arm for the champion, and a special weapon... but thats an easy remedy with the bitsbox I've got hehe.

Just a bit of detailing on the fleshy heads and the missing parts to do (oh and basing, which is undecided yet)

Converted the autocannon from a heavy bolter with a lollypop stick, a pen lid and some wire
