Hi, I'm fairly new to 40k and want to create an Imperial Guard kill team. I recently saw the 2014 event pack, letting you use more special rules, so I was wandering if this list would be viable. I don't need it to be very competitive, but I won't complain if I get advice that makes it more competitive Anyway, here's the list

(Leader)Marbo-65 pts-Smash
Veterans:Grenadiers, 3*grenade launcher, Shotguns
Weapons team with Mortar and Blind
Sergeant with Power Fist, Laspistol and Strikedown
200 pts

Hi! Thanks for asking. Some interesting ideas.

We play a lot of Kill Team here and we talked about Marbo.

Just 2 things that came up. 1st, there's going to be real angry arguments if he could sneak in like normal, like I know his rule says he can do the "Look Out Behind You" rule. 2nd, even if he can, he's too obvious a target, so after he sneaks in, he'll just get Rapid Fired to death. Result, probably not worth taking.

(Also a minor thing, if you take a Vet Squad, he has to be the Leader due to higher his Ld of 8 vs. Marbo's Ld of 7.)

I would suggest taking Marbo out (sorry!) as well as the Power Fist off the Sergeant. In a Kill Team game, where the Sergeant can't hide within his unit, he's just going to get killed if he tries to use that.

Then with those points, you can easily afford another Veteran Squad. A Double Vet Squad is awesome. Maybe some Ratlings.

And I know you're going for a fun Kill Team, you said you don't want it to be very competitive! But I do think Marbo starts a lot of un-fun arguments and probably not worth it in the end.

I can see how you were going to make Marbo the hero, racking up kills, getting more USRs. However, I think he might just cause a lot of tension and end up dead, unfortunately.
