Hello all, thought i'd start a blog on here, so that i don't spam the boards full of annoying threads. And that all my idiotic questions could be centralised in one place. Also That i could keep a track on what i've still to do.

I previously had Tau, then got bored as i crushed everyone with hilariously overpowered guns, with soldiers that were worser shots than Dick Cheney. So i sold the Tau, and went for imperial guard. Something about IG always excited me, i think it was that guardsmen are genuinely useless. Everything in the project will be cheap, nothing will be new. All the Models will be off Ebay (one or 2 from 4tk gaming, who are excellent) And even the airbrush is a crappy Chinese thing, and i've never actually touched an airbrush before). However i hope this to be a decent looking, and very large army. (hopefully in preparation for a new dex soon!)

- First up is the task of painting 12 various leman russ'
- Then 3 Chimeras and a Hellhound.
- Then if i'm still alive i'll try my hand at painting to Valkyries.
-And then if by some miracle i've not gone insane i'll tackle the job of around 150 guardsmen.

All these parts will be interspersed with other small units. (something to break the monotony)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
First up one of the leman russ'

This is more of a test bed to get used to my airbrush, and things have gone pretty well. The thing is not finished all over, but one of the sides is almost done. However somethings missing and i think it looks c**p!) Here are Some pictures,

Only the the side facing is done (well i thought it was). But something is missing, iv'e stared at it for 15 minutes and can't work out what's wrong. I'm not happy with it at all! Apologies, my photography is as bad as my painting!

Nice start on the Russ, nicely weathered. I'd add more mud to the lower half of the side, make it a little darker. Other than that, this is looking great. 12 russes is certainly an ambitious task, but if they're all to the standard of that finished side, then it will look great.

The scheme for the guardsman in the background looks interesting, any chance of a better shot of it?

I've done as you suggested and added abit more dark brown too the tank, However i think i might redo the whole thing as i missed the company and squad markings on the front. So will have to think about what i'm going to do. (I knew something didn't look right!). Today my stormtroopers that have been having a bath, should be ready to be stripped. So will crack on with that today.

As regards to the guardsmen, as i said everything is second hand and cheap, so i've had a variety of colour schemes to look through. Here is what some originally looked like.

He's just been sprayed with some sand yellow, in preparation for the green and khaki.

Aha, I see. I actually think that last combination is pretty cool, the yellow armour and sand fatigues. It's certainly not something I've seen before. What colour scheme are you planning on going for?
