By the title I mean, what do you use as his bodyguard/delivery system?

As far as I see it there's a few options

Cultist foot slog blob - I'm inclined to say not as zombies because they can't run.
This is cheap, 35 wounds at 150 points, but cultists will die quickly.

Terminator blob - very resilient to small arms fire, but plasma still wounds them on a 2+. even with T5. A lot more expensive than the cultist blob.

And in the middle of the road is a 20 marine blob. High numbers, decent save. Can take a few plasma or melta guns.

Delivery systems include a biker lord with key (deepstrike with a terminator blob), a land raider (points sink, easy target), or Huron (infiltrate).

Anything could work - I'm inclined to say Huron/cultist blob (maybe a second one to switch to?) is the most cost effective option. At 2k plus a 500-600 points blob might be an idea to draw fire.

It depends on your army, i usually either do cultist or terminators.

I use Nurgle spawn.
That means usually, he's in combat by turn two. No faster delivery system than that (maybe possibly apart from a LR, but it dies faster and whatever is in the LR makes for a less than ideal troupe).

Eye of Terror

Most of the people I know who use him bring him in a blob of plague zombies. Sometimes with a Sorcerer at his side.

I saw a game last weekend where someone was using him with a spawn bodyguard unit. There were some sort of shenanigans going on where the spawn where stretched out to form a chain, allowing Typhus to pile in towards the end. Amazingly tough unit.

I use mutilators of nurgle. Maybe not the ultimate set up, but it's fun and can work well. I deep strike usually, and charge into combat by turn three usually. Typhus usually gets this psychic power that makes enemy guns get the "gets hot" special rule. Helps to mitigate some of the firepower coming at him and his unit.

Roll 1d6 in the shooting phase and move him and his unit that far...

Curb stomping in the Eye of Terror!

You don't run with Typhus.

I'm partial to either with Nurgle Spawns or Typhus+Zombies infiltrated by Huron.

Live Ork, Be Ork. or D'Ork!

Plague marines for fluff list. Also seems to work fairly well.

Nightlords 2,750 Points
Tzeentch Daemons 2250 Points
Nurgle Daemons 1750 Points
Death Guard 2250 Points
Thousand Sons 1750 Points
