I am currently planning on using the new inquisitor codex to represent a rogue trader that has allied with my homebrew chapter. I have a few questions about them I hope you can answer.

What would a rogue trader have access to in terms of equiptment for himself?
What equipment from codex inq would he not have access to?

Would his riches (and possibly favours to high ranking officials) give him access to equipment needed by the space marines?
Ex. Land raider, terminator armour, heresy age relics?

Any other info you think would help flesh out my rogue trader and his forces?

My secret fortress at the base of the volcano!

The Space Marines would be responsible for supplying their own gear. That's why they have Techmarines and Chapter serfs and forges on their homeworlds. Back in 1st Edition, it was not uncommon for SM to travel with a RT to stomp filthy xenos, so I would assume they would bring sufficient spare parts to keep themselves operational in the field. If they felt they would need a Rhino to get around on a planet, they would probably bring one on board the ship, just in case. Being tied to a RT shouldnt affect SM gear all that much (though a Chapter might not be willing to lend a RT veterans in Terminator armor).

A Rogue Trader would have access to literally ANY xeno tech or human tech (even Dark Age tech). Rogue Traders are permitted to trade with xenos, loot xeno bodies, and scavenge pre-Heresy human tech (provided the Techpriest that travels with them gets to look at it first). Usually this manifests as some type of super-sexy defensive or offensive gear (personal force fields or Eldar weapons). Rogue Traders would not have access to daemon weapons, because even their exceptional freedom does not extend to trafficking with daemons. So kit him out however you would like, but don't give him any daemon weapons, and you should be fine.

In addition, RTs usually hire a lot of mercenaries to tag along and tear gak up for them. This is easily represented by having some IG squads in your army. While mercenaries may not have access to the best of the best IG wargear (the RT s rich and pays them, but they have to supply their own gear) they would easily have the basics: lasguns, heavy and assault weapons, the Chimera, and the basic LRBT (not the sexy variants).

Hope that helps.

You can justify a rogue trader having anything, really, just by saying he's from an old, established family whose been tradering for generations. The only things that wouldn't make 'sense' would be for him to be carrying around things that are totally in the purview of the inquisition, things directly relating to daemons and the like.

So maybe he doesn't have terminator armor, but he's got an ancient heavy archaeotech powered suit, which gives him a 2+5++ save, etc.

Space marines are responsible for their own gear, but there are some things they cannot make in large enough amounts to allow a full armoury. Thats why I asked specifically about term armour and landraiders.

I will be iusing the hereticus profile with thunderhammer and condemnor boltgun and artificer armour. Allowable?

I want to have my rogue trader give rare gear to my space marines in exchange for a 30 man force to e permanently assigned.

He would trade a partial LR stc to a forgeworld to get rare gear.

I will also be using a henchmen squad geared out to be faux-kasrkin with a valkyrie..

From what I am reading here though, he would need to be extensivly rich. Would a 3000-4000 year dynasty have the ability to build this wealth,. Newer or older?

Everyone gets access to Power Armour (inquisitorwise anyway) but yeah the armour choice is fairly limited.

Power armour will work. Thnx.

So what I am getting so far is that this is completly doable fluff and gameplay wise.

Doable, will look great for conversions and on the table, and gives a great variety to the game.

Pretty much all the standards of a good army concept.
