Surely if the corsairs have no path or extreme physical labour (exodites) then they will succumb to temptation and bad stuff happens, like pre-fall eldar?

Not possessed a such, but more depraved. If they travel the dark paths to much (Slavery, Pointless killing, over 'excess') then they will become akin to how the Dark Eldar are currently. But they won't turn to chaos, no Eldar (Well, no Eldar that hasn't been retconned out, Chaos Eldar used to be real, but extremely rare and very, very powerful) will turn to chaos or become possessed willingly. While of cause if they steer into a warp storm and drop their warp fields daemons would possess them all the same, willingly or not, but they won't 'fall' to chaos, they will be taken by it. Eldar inherently hate Chaos, and warp-magic is one of the few things that Dark Eldar don't allow. Nothing bad will happen, they will just become horrible, cruel creatures. The Dark Eldar are the cruellest race in the galaxy, not because they are worse then the other races, but because they are evil because they *want* to, while Orks/Tyranids/Daemons are evil because that's what they *are*. The worst that can happen is they attract enough attention for the imperium to set them as a threat, by which time they have a battle barge on their ass and even the most daring corsair prince will be running with his tail between his legs.

yes. but also, surely through this depravity all of that psychic eldarness would manifest in the warp, forming in the warp into daemons, attacking them or someone else-surely if they really care about the chaos threat then they would avoid all depravity-or do they not know that their depravity forms daemons, or am I wrong (very possible!)

If that was true, don't you thin the most depraved place in the universe, Commorragh would be swarming with daemons by now? While yes, Eldar emotions do manifest in the warp, the depravity and excess usually feeding Slaanesh. But the daemons created through random emotions are weaklings, no real form or substance, just echoing emotions and are unlikely to ever make it into real space. Much more likely to be eaten by a bigger warp entity. Eldar are a very selfish people, they don't care about chaos, they care about protecting themselves from chaos. Craftworld eldar do with the path system, Dark Eldar do it with regeneration, Corsairs land somewhere in the middle by just planning not to die. So in other words, yes they know their emotions effect the warp, its simply the fact doesn't effect them so they don't care. Remember, they have been dealing with this problem for millennia, they are quite adept at it.

That's not how daemons are formed. Emotions and the like go to the relevant Chaos God, who then creates the daemons (consciously or not). Besides, even the potential Undivided entities that they may create on their own wouldn't be able to breach into reality without a serious amount of power behind them.

Eldar ships do not venture into the warp only the webway, (i guess you never played BFG, eldar ships are a pain and can do masive damage)
And as far as i know ever eldar soul that goes into the warp is consumed by she who thirsts.

Keep in mind that the corsairs always come from another eldar group. So some of them run around with soul stones and still follow a path, just not in a way that keeps them from getting kicked off their craftworld (Yriel is a great example). While others work with the DE and live like DE but are not part of the society per se.
I am sure some of them might be harlequins who are refugees from codex harlequin that GW nixed.
BTW the craftworld eldar do not need the path to keep them from falling to chaos rather it keeps them from feeding slaanesh and helps them channel their urges. Eldar are super impulsive.

The Imperium can bind daemons into servitude with their space magic and/or tech, so there is no reason why the DE couldn't and they are much more pragmatic than even radical Inquisitors.

Most follow the Path of the Outcast after falling from more strict Paths. Still a Path, and still holds the sins of Chaos at bay pretty well.

Anything with a soul can be possessed, even tau (ref: withhunters codex) so in the whole 40k universe yes there is a possessed eldar somewhere, I'd imagine it's stupidly rare though.

I have never heard of tau being possessed. Sounds interesting, what page?

I'd imagine a Possessed Eldar would be much easier to find then one of he Fabled Chaos Eldar. That's an Eldar that consciously decides to turn to chaos, and they are incredibly powerful and rare. See what a Farseer can do, with his powers dampened and controlled to prevent the warp from getting to him, now imagine him without those constraints. That's Alpha level stuff right there. Although there are storis containing possessed elder n Masque the Vyle and Path of the Incubus if you'd like to know more on what possessed are like.
