This is just a rough draft and needs some spelling and reference work, but please feel free to provide any idea or corrections. Thanks in advance! I have attached to word file so if any of you are compulsive editors, please feel free!

Cadian 39th Regiment
5th Company
Mixed Unit Urban Assault
“The Scavengers”

Background:
The Cadian 39th Regiment was formed in M41 to defend the Imperium. During a battle to reclaim a hive the regiment was wiped out in a cleverly(at least for Orks) laid Ork trap, the only exception was the 5th company. Unaware of the state of the Regiment, the 5th company continued with its assigned orders and not only survived but routed the Orks after killing the local Warboss. During their attack on the hive, they encountered a pair of StormLord Super Heavy Tanks under heavy attack. After driving off the orks, the 5th Company commander convinced the tank commanders to assist in the assault. This was the beginning of a tradition of collecting equipment, armor and men left behind by others and incorporating them into the regiment. Sometimes this is made official, other times it just happens and by the time the Imperium bureaucracy figures out what happened it is too late. Over time, the regiment has added two additional Super Heavy Tanks to their squadron, a Baneblade and a Hellhammer. They have also added nearly a full company of Leman Russ Battle Tanks of various builds. These include 2 Battle Tanks, 1 Vanquisher, 2 Demolishers, 2 Executioners, 2 Exterminators, and 1 Punisher. also an artillery battery consisting of 2 Basilisks, 2 Griffons and a Manticore. In addition to the heavy units listed they have 2 Sentinel squadrons, one armored and one scout, a Hellhound Squadron consisting of a Hellhound and a Devil Dog and a flight wing consisting of a Valkyrie and a Vendetta. The infantry core of the regiment consists of the Company Commander and his command squad, 2 full Infantry platoons, 7 mechanized veteran squads and 1 Kasrkin Stormtrooper squad.
After 2 additional missions were completed successfully by the remnants of the 39th Cadian, Imperial HQ finally learned of the status of the regiment. In normal circumstances the 39th would have been combined with another short regiment, however after the successes of the 39th, it was decided to leave them as a short regiment. Since that time, the 39th Regiment has been used for special missions that normal Imperial Guard regiments have either failed at or that requires a more unorthodox approach.
Due to the unorthodox methods used by the 39th, the Imperium sent a Lord Commisar to inspect the regiment. The Lord Commisar was so impressed by the ferocity of the 39th that he requested permanent assignment to the 39th. In addition, the Mechanicus Munitorium in gratitude for the machine spirits saved and recovered by the 39th sent an Enginseer with his retinue to assist in keeping the machines operating. The 39th has been assigned to work with the Inquisition, the Adeptus Soriatus, and several chapters of Space Marines due to their adaptability and flexibility.

The only advice I can offer is tell it, don't say it. (for which I am indeed guilty of) Form the discriptions into a flowing script instead of stating what they have. It's a good way of adding a little fluff to individual war machines.

With your next draft Ilm sure new ideas will be popping into your head. Good luck, and good hunting.

Come into my web, said the spider to the fly.
Come rest your wings, and let us talk eye to eye.
For I am a spider, and you are the fly. Now that you are here, let us sit, and say hi.
But I have have no morsel to share, nor anything to eat. But wait, what is that stickiness upon your feet.
Ah now I have you, now I can eat. Now I can enjoy you, or store you as meat.
For I am the spider, and you are the fly. How else could it have gone, between one such as you, and one such as I.

This is actualya good way to start working on it, create a background for both tanks and assorted mechanized instruments of war alongside the story of the men in said regiment. Have any of them in past wars done something special or particulary brave? Or have they seen the worst of what war in 41th milleium can trow at them, and yet somehow crawled trough alive?
