My thread locked inexplicably, so now I can't respond to posted replies to my question. Any way to unlock it?

Short answer: Not really

Long Answer: Your thread was locked probably because the mod that locked it was the last poster in the thread. He answered your question when he said this:

As with all moderator decisions, if you take issue with one you probably won't get a better answer here. Send a PM to that moderator, another moderator or ultimately, Yakface if you wish to appeal or if there is some further discussion you would like to have. In this particular case I'd PM Insaniak and ask since he's a very reasonable guy.

It's pretty standard for threads to be locked in YMDC if it is a clear "asked a question, got it answered, no real debate to be had here" thread.

YMDC is a very busy area of Dakka, lots of threads and posts are made there. So if a thread like yours comes along it seems to get locked pretty quickly since it is an easy answer.

It's not because you did anything wrong by posting it or asking the question, so no worries there, but it just seems to help the flow of the forum by keeping the questions that are harder to answer on the front page as the locked answered threads drop to page 2.
