Battle Barge Impossible Fortress

This is an okay 1500 but it can be improved slightly. If you allow, here's an alternative to consider. I could explain it more if you're interested.

1497:
Ahriman (Warlord)
7 Tsons- Rhino
10 CSM- Melta x2, Rhino
19 Cultists
Heldrake- Baleflamer
5 Raptors- Melta x2
2 Obliterators
5 Havocs- Autocannon x4
5 Havocs- Autocannon x4
ADL- Quadgun

Sure please explain, that would allow me to adjust and understand why I am adjusting. ALso, I use to have a link to a nice tutorial about how to use Ahriman, do you happen to know where that is?

was it this?

If so, I need to make some updates to it soon.

As far as some advice goes:

1.) Any time you move units from Elites to Troops, you are, in some way whether minor or major, spending points to do so. Only unlocking one unit is a waste of those points.

2.) Tsons don't need to be 9-man units. 7 total is perfectly acceptable. Save 9 or 10 for 2000+ lists.

3.) CSM need Rhinos. Master of Deception lists definitely need Rhinos.

4.) If you want lascannons, you could be taking more Obliterators. Havocs are best with autocannons or special weapons (if in a Rhino).

5.) That raptor setup is great. Try to always use them. They are rarely used, which is funny because they can take 2x special weapons and are arguably more durable than 3 Combi-Melta terminators (in some cases) if they ever choose to deepstrike.

Any questions on Ahriman, and I can definitely fire away there.

It's hard to fit Ahriman in 1500 and make a TS army work.

With that said, perhaps it would be prudent to take 2 units of Tsons in rhinos and get melta bombs on them-I like force axes on them to get the AP 2 on things.

I'd also drop the aegis and try to fit in another helldrake somehow.

That should be a pretty good army to go with then.

Ultimately, your Tsons are going to get shot to heck but having them in a rhino helps for a bit until they get in range to do stuff and hopefully by then the helldrake a will be in position to support them...

It's good that you have some decent long range support from havocs/oblits but keep in mind that they are vulnerable to mass fire so if facing against a very shooty army you want to force them to have to deal with infiltrating nasty targets to take heat off of them.

Just curious, if I wanted to bump this to 2K? Would it be better to just stick with CSM or is there a nice Tzeentch themed Daemon list at say..500 points?

Battle Barge Impossible Fortress

A level 3 Herald with Disc and Exalted Reward, 10 Horrors and 9 Screamers is under 500pts and makes a perfect addition to any CSM list (especially ones with Heldrakes).

People in my area call it mini-star. It's mini because you only have 1 Herald and no Fateweaver for Grimoire re-rolls, but it is highly resilient if things go your way.
