So, I run most of my tanks without sponsons. I run an armoured company so I have quite a few tanks, 4 out of my 6 LR's don't have spons and I just cannot for the life of me figure out a good placement to put the smoke launchers if I don't have sponsons... it's so easy just to put them ontop of the sponsons for the two that have them.

Anyone have any suggestions? Pictures would be even better!

On the turret sides/top, or the front mudguards.

By "mudguards," I would assume Clang is talking about the armor that goes over the tracks, where the frag assault launchers would be on a LR Crusader. Don't see that working terribly well, as the slope doesn't allow them to point up and out - great spot for a fog machine, but smoke grenades are meant to travel a distance before popping. The sides would also be an option, if you angled the launchers up a bit (plenty of flat space in the angled recess, if you don't drop an icon in there, as many do).

Personally, I stuck mine right on top, just behind the headlight enclosures. Seems the most sensible spot, to me, and looked good in the stock photos (see the LR on the GW site/the first image in Google search results for "land raider" for an example).

Derp. One never runs a Land Raider without sponsons. Good catch, rigeld.

I'd assume he's referring to Leman Russ' based on him talking about sponsons...

On the turret would be best imo. Not mounted on the top, but on the sides.
