I'm sure this topic appears every couple of months or something, but I was browsing the Games Workshop web site today and noticed that the prices have gone up. Way up. Like, close to doubled since last I looked! (Which was earlier this week). Since when is a box of tactical marines $65?!

I had my eye on a Land Speeder Vengeance but couldn't quite drop the hammer at $65. Now at $85 there's no way. Is this just a holiday price gouge? Or did they really just inflate all prices 30%?

Forgive my naive outrage, but what the heck?

I don't know what currency or country you accidently selected but when I check, the tac squad is the same $40 and the land speeder v is $65.

This topic comes up more frequently than that. It's always the same story of people with a wishful disbelief in inflation and failing to see the value in durable goods.

And then a bunch of people jumping on the bandwagon, followed by impassioned "This time the price hikes are driving me out of the game for real this time" and "we should send a letter to GW" speeches, followed by predictions of GW's immanent demise and slow death of the hobby by greedy corporate fat-cats. In the end everyone walks away content in their feelings of vindiction with nothing accomplished. Same as always.

Just checked, Australia's prices match the OPs. Looks like he selected Australia instead of the US.
Though I wouldn't have been surprised if it was a legit price hike for Christmas.

well, that's what people are talking about. It's only the OP that had the wrong page open and thought the amount in AUS was USD.

You should really try reading the thread before responding...

His flag says he's in australia - those prices ARE normal to him...and thus I think he was making a 'dead pan' funny.

Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

all sorted then.
