This is something that I've been jostling around with in my head since 6th dropped, finally got honed in enough that I felt it would be worth discussing:

Primary::Necrons

HQ

225 Imothek

RC

40 Chronotek

ELITES

205 C'Tan w/Lord of Fire ("cheapest" upgrades)
225 C'Tan w/Pyreshards & Moulder of Worlds (8 shot and Large blast)
240 C'Tan w/Spirit Dust and Writhing Worldscape (Stealth/Assault Nades/Angry Earth)

TROOPS
65 5xWarrriors
65 5xWarrriors

FAST ATTACK

45 3xScarab Swarms

HEAVY SUPPORT
150 3xTomb Spyders
150 3xTomb Spyders
165 3xTomb Spyders 1xGloom Prism

Ally::Chaos Space Marines
HQ
365 Demon Prince
Tzeentch
Armor
ML 3
Wings
Spell Familiar
Gift of Mutation
Scroll of Magnus

TROOPS
60 Tzeentch Cultists

So, obviously there's a rather minimalist approach to troops here. The idea with that, is, reserve them, and hide them. Keep your opponents eye on the 44 wounds of MCs plus the Scarab farm for as long as possible.

I think the Scarab Farm will be one of the crucial aspects of the list. You'll either want to go first or place them very conservatively (out of LOS if possible) the first turn, so they have a chance to bump up a bit. After that, keep the TS's spread out but also in position to lay on the robot roach cheese. By the time they are done working through your DP and 3 C'Tan you should have a whole army of Scarabs and Spyders to hit them with a second wave.

Also, some might find concerns with Imo potentially zapping the Tzeentch dudes. Role for those units first thing each turn, and use your Chrono in case you get a 6. Should keep the heat off of them.

I know the 365 point DP will raise an eyebrow or two. I considered going Demons instead and getting two cheaper MCs, but I really wanted a center piece for this list. Also, after running a few simulations, I really like what I'm seeing with this guy. Is he going to attract a lot of attention and often die early in the game? Sure. But between flying, and the potential for a wide variety of Gifts and Powers that buff his resiliency, not to mention Imo's Night Fighting, he won't go down easy and should buy the rest of your MCs some breathing room.

Oh, and Imo. My original plan was generic OLord, Pulsetek, and more Warriors/Scarabs. But giving the Tomb Spyders and Scarabs in particular extra turns of NF was too big to pass up.

Let me know what you think.
