Subject: How to use Codex: Inquisition as GK?

This past winter I started a army project to make a inquisition (coteaz/GK) + deathwatch (SW-Droppod) army, and it was all fun and good. However with the dropping of the new IQ codex (fun read, but all the lore already existed on a wiki somewhere) I am trying to find out ways to use this codex.
Special characters = same
Options = +3 new books... (the one that gives scout is kinda like a cheap grand strategy)
Elites = option to take priests, who are amazing badass for their cost.
Transports = Valk, a new option but I already run storm ravens for my DCA's. Landraiders, which GK/coteaz already have.
Right now I have a Coteaz/PC servitor/Bolter warrior squad and a DCA/Crusader in a Stormraven as the core of my original henchmen army. Is the way forward just to drop cash on Land Raiders? For the same cost you can run a tricked out Raven (assault cannon/hurrican/psyammo) with henchmen...
I am really trying to pull out some new options for my guys, but as a Coteaz henchmen army already I am failing to see the options :/

Well for one you can double the number of inquisitors and scoring henchmen you have by going IQ primary + IQ Allied + Allied SW
You could go even crazier and take GK allies giving you 6 Inquisitors and 18 henchmen teams. I recommend 18 Valkyries with 3 acolytes in each.

Can the Inquisitor codex ally with itself? I would guess that would be a violation as every codex that can ally with itself explicitly states it... the Inquisitor codex does not.

That gets you six units of scoring henchmen. Taking Coteaz in the GK codex by itself also gets you six units of scoring henchmen.

Crazy as in wrong?

But the Inquisition codex lists itself as a Battle brother though. Why would it do that unless it could ally with itself?

So double force org GK gets you 12 + 3 for IQ allies (looks like in the IQ rules it is per army not per detatchment).

Sure it can ally with itself, but each detachment can only get you 3 scoring units max, because the chart for Inquisition is 1-2 HQs, 0-3 Elites (which count as scoring under certain conditions). If taking Inq as a primary detachment, the 0-3 elites count as scoring. If also taking Inq as an inquisition attachment (the special ally detachment they have) then those particular 0-3 elites only count as scoring if you take Coteaz as the HQ for that specific detachment. So under 2000 points, allying Inquisition with Inquisition gets you a whopping 6 scoring units, which is exactly the same amount of scoring henchmen units the GK codex already got you. The GK codex can get you 6 scoring henchment units using only 1 HQ (Coteaz), the Inq codex requires you to purchase 2 HQs, one of which is Coteaz. Yup, looks like it. Though since I doubt Coteaz can be purchased twice, looks like only 12 of those 15 henchmen units would be scoring.

The Grey Knight Coteaz makes henchmen troops in his army, not just in his detachment as the Inquisitorial one does. Take him in C:GK and it works, although I don't really see the gain in 15 units of henchmen to begin with.

Just grab inquisitors for as many squads as you can. 25 points for 3 wounds really can help absorb damage to your squad, considering every guy in that squad is probably ~25 points. Doesnt use your ally slot, so 4 inqusitors as HQs isnt actually a bad idea (some psykers where needed, others just wound sinks)

Hmm, that's a darn good point. You may be right there about Coteaz.
PS - You don't think 15 Chimeras with 3 acolytes in each one is AWESOME!?

Have you seen this pdf? You can take GK+ SM: Red Hunters+ Inq all as battle brothers now. Pretty awesome and can make for some very convincing Deathwatch.

Not necessarily. Skyfire, monster hunter, and tank hunter are the shooty abilities and they are absolutely great on melta and/or combi melta. The rest of the abilities are hatred and counter attack...which are melee. Interceptor is questionable for use as it is very situational.
All of these abilities could be great on combi sternguard or better yet a tank hunter chapter master attached to a psycannon inquisitor/GK spamming units (2 inquisitors+2 GK HQ with psycannons). It also works on dreadnoughts...how does a contemptor mortic with kheres assault cannons with tank hunter sound? Or a dakka dread with skyfire and/or tank hunter?
