**SPOILERS AHEAD!! IF YOU WANT TO CHECK OUT MY LATEST BATREP FIRST, STOP READING!!!!!**

Okay, in my last match, i had doubts about my DE allies and my gut was right...they really didn´t bring anything to the table...

First of all, i´m not trying to build a Venom-spam, but an interesting, all around Dark Eldar army (little by little) and the beginnings are to team up with my Lost Vyper -fleet...

Currently i have :

- Archon
- Cool modified Baron Sathonyx
- 10 x Kabalite Warriors or as Trueborn
- 10 x Wyches or as Hekatrixes
- 10 x Hellions
- Ravager or i proxy a Raider with it too
- Voidraven (i use it mostly as a Crimson for Eldar)

Last match, i got the Baron + Hellions, Wyches in a Raider...all of the matches, where Baron has made an appearence, he looses his 2+ within 2 rounds and Hellions are moved down like a lawn. Raider got blown up and 6+ doesn´t really help the Wyches...Wyches did how ever (all 4 that were left) Haywire a Drednaught down (Fuegan helped, by gathering the Overwatch), so points were paid back there. But if Fuegan hadn´t been there...dear lord...

My opponent admitted, that he had counter built a list against the Eldar --> ignores cover in blasts from the orbit and from the tanks and my WS´s were hurting. Plus the Hellions, who would have had 3+ cover thanks to Baron, but not in this game.

I haven´t lost hope, but it seems, that the Wyches might have been a terrible buy, but i got them fairly cheap, so...I just love the Baron (coolest HQ IMHO, but not the best i see) and the Hellions, but Eldar Jetbikes do the same, but better.
At the moment, i´m on a TIGHT budjet, so i really don´t need a shopping list, but more of a strategic ideas, like Archon with the Wyches to keep the alive WHEN the Raider explodes? Or what?

I´m trying to fix a game against the Space Wolves, cos the worst things from there are the Jaws and LOADS of missiles...at least i´ll have my cover save...

DE are in a tough spot right now if you don't want to spam venoms or bring beasts. A blob of 20 warriors with the baron is decent, but 20 guardians with hvy platforms is comparable. Your ravager is solid. Honestly I would get a venom and just bring the baron (join him to whatever eldar unit in your primary), one venom squad, and the ravager.

If you check my post history I have many battle reports with eldar+DE and my tournament record with them is 5-1. Hard to make it work without investment tho.

Jaws is not really an issue for Eldar with I5+ everywhere. I second hyv3mynd on the venom and baron with a squad. Baron works great with wraithguard, and can even go with bikes if you want.

Why not use your Archon as a Proxy for Vect? Vect works really well for Eldar because he increases the chance of alpha striking with his 4+ seize. The Detachment would look like Vect, wyches/warriors (preference, PE helps Warriors but wastes his melee potential) in a raider with a Void Raven with FF (Always take FF on flyers so we never have to jink). I assume that your Vyper fleet contains lots of Vyoers? Vyoers don't like being shot, but like shooting, so 4+ seize is well worth it. He is also kick ass in combat vs anything with a 3+ save.

Would you just have Baron to sit with WG on an objective or trying to walk thro the board? And i must admit, that Venoms are nice, and i´ve been checking them out. So another way to go would be the Beastmasters with Baron?

The best use for Hellions is as a conversion for beastmasters. Their abilities aren't that great unless you are taking a large number of them (eg: 20).

I would never bother with Hekatrixes as they simply aren't worth it. Wyches should be run as suicide units of 5, preferably in a venom, whose only purpose is to knock out enemy vehicles and dreadnoughts. From a CC perspective, they just don't have the staying power to deal with MEQ. The only other use is as something for your opponent to shoot at.

As far as HQ, the ones I run are (in order of preference):

Haemi -for the pain token and making wracks troops.
Duke - to upgrade a warrior blobs poison shots
Archon - upgraded for CC, usually with some Incubi
Vect - for larger games when I really really want the first turn, also with some Incubi to wreck face.

Honestly you could fit 2 venoms with Kab warriors for troops and one venom with splinterborn in it. you will wreck with that, I know you do not want venom spam but honestly it is a good combo with elder.

On the note of the baron -- hes really just one of the best overall values in the game. I would argue hes as good as coteaz for his cost.

He brings you hit and run, offensive and defensive gernades, night vision, hes fast, and he can hit fairly hard on his own.

Now how many eldar units could use that buff? Even if they lose battle focus I can think of a lot of cases where that would be invalueable.
