OK, i tried to prime some standard GW plastic models yesterday (with citadel skull white spray) and the consistency of the spray meant that the paint just ran into and proceeded to fill in all of the detail. I would prefer not to have to buy a new can so is there a way to fix this?
Thanks

It sounds like you were spraying too near or for too long.
Short bursts from about 8-12 inches (20-30 cm) should don the trick... The distace, of course, partly depends on environment's temperature and moisture.

^ plus do it in short bursts, do not spray close or even far away in one spot.

I do lots of very short bursts. 1/2 second possibly 1/4 second at about 30 cms away. Practice on some sprue or a plastic mini you don't care about first. And shake the can for at least two minutes.

also, use army painter sprays.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Army painter sprays are quite thick. If you don't know how to use a spray can properly just switching from GW to AP isn't going to solve the problem.

The problem with GW sprays is that they are over-priced rubbish.

In this specific case, it sounds like the can wasn't shaken enough, and potentially spraying too close.

The fix for this time is to drop the minis in some Simple Green for a few days and then give them a good scrub. Then wash with soapy hot water, and start over.

The fix for future minis is to buy a different spray. Pretty much any other spray.
