For the longest time I have been running Coteaz (GK) behind a aegis line with Jokaero's, PC servitors and warriors. He often makes his money back with the servitors but his lack of mobility can be harsh sometimes.

If running him with a droppod ally, would you toss him in a chimera to provide close range support?
If so, would it just be with some PG warriors and extra bodies, or would you toss in some PC servitors for a more mobile firebe, perhaps a crusader or DCA for a CC bodyguard?

Personally i prefer to have the same squad as you but in the chimera (Coteaz, 3 PC servitors and 2 jakiro + henchmen).
This helps against long range firepower (especially when they ignore cover) such as TAU and serpent shields.

Your opponent first has to kill the chimera, then the acolytes and finally gets to the jakiro and PC.

It can give you one further turn of shooting and more resilience

Do you run an aegies wall as well or just use local cover?

I run him in a chimera with his monkeys. Sit the chimera behind the ADL. What I usually put directly behind the ADL is harker's vet squad wearing camo. A 2+ base cover save without having to go to ground makes a decent sponge unit. Add a commissar lord to the unit to man the gun, combines with coatez and his guys in the chimera, nice and effecticve.

Why is this an exlusive choice? A squad of henchmen in a chimera can still fire 5 weapons out of the hatch, and the chimera can still use an aegis. A chimera is an upgrade to a henchmen squad, not a replacement for something else.

My list is currently near the 1500 point limit I am trying, just figuring out benifits of the ADL vs a Chimera with coteaz and plasma stuff.

Chimeras evaporate when close to the enemy. Those 10 AV sides are each to target and blow up.

If your going to use him for close range support, your going to need something like a land raider. While your at it, fill the land raider full of DCAs priests, and crusaders.
