Hey guys
so i was creating bases from cork, pretty standard and i thought to myself "iv never seen anyone make a building outta this stuff" so i had a look online and couldnt see anything. The sheets i have are pretty sturdy. Also compared to other materials they are mega easy to work with and create great effects. Has anyone had any luck? Im talking about building 40k building ruins here btw. Would definitely need to be sturdier than just cork but im thinking with the thin wooden lollypop sticks/coffee stirrers glued as uprights. Not only will it act as an aid to support but also give a bit more detail and depth to the building. I have a load anyway so im gonna go try it out theres nothing to lose. Just curious if anyone else has tried?

Haven't seen it tried with cork, but im sure it could work Lollipop sticks for any clean edges and then cork for some great ruined sides. With a few layers of PVA to coat it it should be pretty sturdy, as PVA is slightly rubbery/plasticy so should resist a little wear and tear

Give it a go and post pics!

I'd thought about it before as well. Be sure to share your results!

He has been a strong proponent of cork construction for a long time. He covers a variety of techniques and what not which work well with cork - though they are not specific to 40K or ruins.

I was going to suggest this .... in fact, overall I find matakishi to have some of the coolest terrain I have ever seen...he is one of the sites that inspired me to get into terrain making with his amazing talent and creativity.

truly a master.

Where do you get your cork sheets from? They seem to be like gold dust around here!

I get mine from Homebase. In the tiling section i think. About 15 inches square. 9 sheets for £8. And they go a long way.
