Okie dokie folks. I want to build an Air Cavalry Guard army. I originally planned to use Elysians, and I still want my army to be based as much on Elysians as possible, but I'm going to build a more vanilla force with vendettas, and Inquisition allied Valkyries (Fluff is still being hammered out) now onto the actual modeling question:

I can buy Elysians for 63USD per 10 and get models that I don't particularly like and really only fit in an Elysian list

OR

I can buy a box of plastic Cadian shock troops for 29USD and 10 Elysian Respirator heads, which I love, for 16USD, making it only 45USD instead of 63, saving 18 dollars per squad

So... How do they look? Before dropping this kind of cash on a huge army of mix n match Respirator cadians and their flyers, is like to know if they actually look as good as they do in my head. Does anyone have pictures of these kind of models? Entirely Cadian but with the heads swapped for Forge world Elysian Drop Troop heads? Painted or unpainted doesn't really matter, my search fu has just failed me and I'd really like to see what these models would look like

Personally I think it would look fine. They look better on the drop troop bodies, but they won't look out of place on a standard Cadian. You'll end up with something that looks a bit like Kasrkin, I think.

That's the plan. I think the regular cadian heads and Forgeworld Cadian Resps are a bit... stumpy, I like the Elysians but they're a bit too Judge Dredd for me.

I really like the kaskrkins but I want guys that are much more lightly equipped/armored to make better rapid deployment troops and represent Flak armor better as the Kasrkins are very obviously wearing carapace armor.

I plan on buying some of those too for my carapace troops (you can see my army list in the 40k army list forum) but I need regular troops and I love the look of the respirator masks and for a low orbit insertion force, they should all be equipped with them.

Not so much. They're cool for sure, but more of a DKoK head than an Elysian. If I was building my own instead of the expensive FW ones, I'd buy up plenty of those and lots of trench coated bodies
