Hey guys, i'm moving out tomorrow morning and I need to pack up my figures, but i'm not sure whats the best way to go about this. Luckily most of the figures I have are plastic, but some are metal and I don't want the paint chipped or owt (if my Lord Kroak or DA dread's paint chips i will cry)
So what's the best way to package them safely?

wrap each model repeatedly in toilet paper, then put them in a box layered with toilet paper, then full it tight with toilet paper, then use that toilet paper for the next year for transporting models.
Thats how mine survived my move.

Heavy stuff (metal, solid resin) on the bottom of the boxes. Then plastic going up. I'm still using the tissues from my move almost a year ago for painting.

toilet paper will probably leave paper particles all over the models which personally would annoy me (but then i get annoyed by a spec of dust or lint on a model).
get some bubble wrap.

Kitchen towels work too (the paper kind).
Tough without being scratchy, they don't leave particles everywhere, and they are cheap.
If you are packing in a box you could lay a layer down, then a layer of models, then another layer and then more models etc.
Works as long as you aren't planning to jostle them too much.
Bubblewrap works better, but is spendier, and is a pain to wrap and tape and tehn unwrap again at the other end. Use if you are planning on bumps and jostling, or if you are shipping them somewhere.

A cheap can of compressed air could solve that problem fairly easy, and is handy to have around the house anyways.

Bubble wrap is cheap if you buy a bumper consignment like five rolls but you will end up with three and a half rolls unused.

You can also buy fairly large (1' x 2' or so) chemical foam packing pads. These operate sort of like handwarmers, where you crack a chemical pack that is suspended inside the pad, and the reaction creates a brick of expanded foam that sets solid. If you put heavy minis in between two of these it creates a form-fitting pocket when they are both activated. Not inexpensive, but it holds your stuff cushioned and motionless.
