Now I know that If I play Necrons as my main army, lord of the storm can hit any allies of convenience during my shooting phase.
Now question number 1 is this, what if I am allying with Necrons. Say I play orks and take Necron allies. Would this bypass lord of the storm striking my Orks. The ruling is as follows. "Units in your army (Orks) treat allies of convenience (Necrons) as enemy units that cannot be charged, shot, targeted with psychic powers or have templates or blast markers placed over them." Now could I be correct on this interpretation, or am I looking for cheese where there is no cheese to be found?
Question number 2. Once again I am playing Orks with Necron Allies. Lord of the storm says at the beginning of each "Necron" shooting phase. Wouldn't my shooting phase be the Ork shooting phase since this is my primary detachment, and your Allies do not have separate shooting phases from your primary detachment? Also, if this former is true, then wouldn't this prevent it from hitting my opponents units as well since once again, it is the Ork shooting phase? So am I right in this one, or once again is it a case of looking for cheese where no cheese is to be found?
Now Question number 3 kind of ties in with question number 2. Say I am playing necrons and my opponent is also playing necrons. Would lord of the storm try to hit his units during his turn because it is still the beginning of the "necron" shooting phase.
and finally question number 4 pertains to both the outcomes of questions 2 and 3. If I am playing necrons and my opponent is only allied with necrons, will lord of the storm attempt to strike during his shooting phase?
