Doing a doubles thing with random partners. Each player brings a 100pt list so need something that might balance with... anything. This is what I'm thinking of (never played spiders/scarabs before, trying to experiment with different things from the codex):

Overlord (res orb, semp weave, staff of light)

Necron Warriors x 9 (scythe)

Necron Warriors x 5 (scythe)

10 scarabs

3 x Spiders

Annihilation Barge

So, basically 6 TL tesla destructors, or 4 and some anti tank and three monstrous creatures?

If running list 1, don't run a unit of 10 scarabs or it will disappear quicker than a diamond at a cleptomaniacs convention. Run 2 units of 3 and a unit of 4. A unit of 3 is still lethal and an enemy may be stupid enough to overlook them in small squads. Also the opponent will have to fire far more than 45pts worth of firepower at each unit to take them down. Lots of small units can also act as speed bumps against assault armies.

Yes. I had actually done an edit of that list since I posted it to make it one squad of seven and one squad of three scarabs.

Hide the scarbs and the spiders in the best bit of LoS blocking terrain in my side. Turn one I add to the first blob of scarabs and send those ten out into the world. Turns two onwards I start to grow the second blob preparing to attack anyone who comes near home field objectives with scarabs AND monstrous creatures while rest of army goes to provide heavy fire support for my partner in challenging for opponent objectives.

Thats the thought anyway...
