First try at Black Legion. I found black to be very tough to paint and highlight. I am going to try different techniques next time.

Open to comments/suggestions/etc.

Paint it black, dry-brush silver and white, wash with black oil wash or nuln oil to blend.

I like the weapons, they look perfect

You didn't drill the bolters, though. You have to.

They are all actually drilled including the bolt pistol but the picture does not really show it.

Black is easy, paint black. Real matt black surfaces don't give much of a highlight, but if you have to highlight, use a very dark subtle grey on only the higher and raised areas.

Anvil Industries Praetorian legs. Awesome product at a good price. I have used several brands of aftermarket legs and these are the best.

these look great dude. How was the oil wash to work with? Ive been meaning to experiment with them for ages but never had the time.

Certainly gonna follow this thread for inspiration for my own black legion army

Somewhere around Brussels...

I love the way you've paint the horns. Just washes?

I use an airbrush for the horns but it could be done with washes too. I found that the airbrush gives a smoother look.
