Hi,

I have played few games versus necron lists. Some of them were flyer based, other used a lot os scrabs and Canopteks. Regardless of the list, my SW have a hard time fighting necrons. Their shooting is great, they are tough and have an decent armour. The volume of fire is very high, and still necrons perform very well during the assault. Is there a way for the space wolves to compete against necrons?

Jaws really does a number on scarabs and spyders.

I'd add some rune priests if you don't already have some.

I can field as much as 4 rune priests with jaws. Still, it is very easy to limit jaws effect to 4-5 models top. And then shoot the rune priest next turn. Jaws are great for sniping warlords, but they fail regarding vehicles etc.

Rune priests and long fangs, lots of grey hunters. I often play against my buddies necrons any objective based game i usually win easily but purge the alien is always a little harder due to reanimation protocol.

Necrons fear jaws.

To deal with flyers add an aegis, quad gun, and an allied vendetta.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Have you tried Drop Pods?
Runepriests, Jaws along with Grey Hunters, meltaguns.
You should be able to take out Lords, Barges etc. when you land, whether shooting and charge next turn

Hi, necrons can field squads of sentry pylons with skyfire and interceptor. That makes drop pod assault a lot less effective.

I have a big problems with Canopteks and Wraiths.
As for warriors, i think i'll try a lot of long fangs with ML and HB.

With the wraiths, just shoot them with as much small arms fire as possible. Their 3++ just only as good as power armour against bolters, whereas plasma/melta/ML lose the advantage of their AP and therefore lose effectiveness. Bolters the like are uour most efficient way of killing them.

If they have a Destroyer lord attached, try and Jaws him, it's the best way to take him down. Other than that, try and hit him with plasma or any other AP2.
