Subject: I had an argument over the chapter tactics.

Hello there,
At last month's tournament I had an argument with one of the guys that runs it about the chapter tactics. I run a full army list of crimson fists. On turn two I rolled my 'to hit' and I got a whole heap of one's so I collected my ones and went to reroll and my opponent politely asked me what I was doing. "my chapter tactic is imperial fists so I get to reroll my dice results of one." his response was, "you can't because you're not a detachment of imp fists and even if you were it only applies to the first turn." so I let it slide because this was the first time playing with the new codex. So since then I've re-read the chapter tactics several times and nowhere does it say that the tactics are only a first turn or for the founding chapter so do I have a leg to stand on for next time?

Crimson Fists follow the chapter tactics of the Imperial Fists and it is ALL ones. You were in the right, your opponent was wrong.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

When somebody pulls a stunt like that, you dig out the codex and let them read it for themselves...never just take your opponent's word on how YOUR army functions when you don't agree with their assessment.

I don't consider it cheating just a miss understanding of the rules as nearly everyone was playing marines so in the end it didn't matter. But it's just annoying.

Where is the arguing? I thought you said you let it slide so there was no arguement.
Maybe a disagreement but no argument at all. What you should have done, as was said, was pull out your codex and show him the rule. Where it was YOUR fault, was you were not ready. By that I mean you should have some yellow stickies in your codex so you can quickly show what your rules are so if someone disagrees or don't know the rules, you can show them right away.
Be prepared next time. Also are not the rules on the back of the codex for quick references?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.
Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

How does anything he said make sense?
If a Crimson Fist detachment doesn't use Imperial Fist rules, then what rules do they use?
Where does it say in the Imperial Fists tactics that it's the first turn only?

Why always i see a post like this, and i said this with no reason to offend, nobody carrie the codex, or the digital version, personaly i remember all my codex, the point cost, the fuction of the gears, the special rules, but even with that, i always carrie my codex or the digital version, to solve misundertandings or forget some point cost, besides, i have read my hole codex like 100 times, but make a good bus reading returning to home after a long day of playing
